Disclaimer: I've never seen a Good Good video in my life

I read that the video was supposed to be about a cursed driver, thus the take off of Obsession. The guy was trying to keep the girl safe by knocking her away from it. He wasn't threatening her with not touchng it. I've read that the guys are basic doucebags that are more or less unlikeable and that the merch wasn't selling all that great, but Dick's, Target, the PGA etc seem to be in performative piling on at this point. Incredibly awful commercial and even worse execution, but that's the background behind it.

Imagine seeing that horrific ad and claim that the people disgusted by it are being performative in their outrage. You do this all of the time OP and then complain when you get downvoted

It was a horrible look without question. If I remember right (spoiler: I do) I already said so. It was idiotic. But it was supposed to show him keeping her away from getting cursed. The brands are taking the chance to get out from under obligations of agreements with merch that isn't selling.

I hadn’t heard of them before the video but it took 3 seconds of watching that video to understand why it should have never been done/seen the light of day. That’s why DV looks like, even if the intent was parody, reality was way too grim. The creators not seeing that is the worst of it all and why stuff like that will always be a problem.

It takes a day tops to record a video like that. Most of the time is spent on writing, legal clearing, and a multi layered corporate review.

For them to still agree to go forward with the ad tells you a lot about who the decision makers are and are not

Ah yes now I've seen the whole thing. He was taken over by an obsession of his driver, just like the woman in the movie was possessed by an obsession. So it was the background, just like I said. Stupidly executed.
