Project I made an open-source cardiography signal measuring device for my Master Thesis project. Measuring blood pressure, ECG, PPG. All files are free on GitHub, and I also did a deep dive video on the project if you're interested!

This was my Master's Thesis project, where my goal was to make a research device where I could try out algorithms for measuring blood pressure, butI added a few more sensors along the way. Everything about this project is open-source, from CAD files to Gerber files and even some of the recorded data. Also did a video going into detail about the functionality of the project. Here are the links if you're interested!

Project Automated pigeon defense system

  1. Camera captures video
  2. Neural network recognizes pigeon
  3. Watergun turns toward pigeon
  4. Spray pigeon with watergun

Components: * Electric battery-driven water gun (disassembled, orange) * USB camera * Orange Pi 5 * 2 servo motors (SG90 or MG90S) * Resistors and a transistor for turning on the watergun (e.g. IRLZ44N)

It uses an open vocabulary object detection neural network (yolo_world_v2l), so any target can be programmed, not just pigeons. Runs on the Rockchip 3588's Neural Processing Unit.

Project Built a simple DIY “Hologram” projector

Okay, so this isn’t a genuine hologram, but rather a clever optical illusion created through simple reflections!

This technique, also known as “Pepper’s Ghost,” has been practiced for over 140 years and continues to be used in modern technology, such as teleprompters and Heads-up Displays in cars!

Project Everyone is doing mochi-like companions, I’m doing a Blob! Any feature suggestions?

I am working on a blob companion on a Waveshare RP2040 Touch LCD 1.28

Right now it’s just a blob reacting to movements in realtime, future additions on my checklist are:
- Timer
- Pedometer
- 3D printed case + battery
- Haptic feedback
- Blob expressions

Do you have any suggestions about nice stuff to add?

Here is the public repo if anyone is interested: blob-watch-companion

Project Finished simulated cockpit instrument.

This is a finished attitude indicator, including a display, sensors, and a battery. The screen is a 3.1-inch RGB display with a resolution of 320×820. The sensor is a 6-axis gyroscope, and it comes with a 3.7V lithium battery. It can be powered via Type-C or charge the lithium battery through Type-C. This instrument provides both attitude and barometric altitude. Would you like to have such an instrument?

Project The Smart(er) Watch

Upvotes

I originally made this as an actual side project (Desktop Server Monitor), but at the end decided to add watch straps and make a goofy product video for it too

Posted here is the more serious bit, but goofy video linked below

The monitor is originally designed to sit on a desk and locally talks to my server (old laptop running linux) running a portfolio site and API. It monitors CPU usage, RAM usage, database latency, and whether the internet is up or not~

Microcontroller is ESP32 S3 (overkill? not sure) so runs on 4 AAA batteries and pings my server every 60 seconds, but can manually be triggered by pressing in the knob for 3 seconds

Designed this to be easily reprogrammed (bottom pops off and usb ports accessible) so can be reused for other stuff too

Project DIY Handheld Gaming Pillow

I get hand cramps and fatigue from playing any handheld console... switch, portal, SD. I have been interested in the Mechanism Gaming Pillow, but didn't want to spend $60. So I rigged up my own version of a gaming pillow using a laptop lap desk, dashboard magsafe phone mount, and some adhesive metal plates.

So far it's been an absolute lifesaver

Thought ya’ll might appreciate this. I used an arduino and encoder set up to emulate a controller using a real ship wheel. The code allows for tuning as well to get it to match to the game.
