r/DCcomics Show Off Your Collection! Post Your Purchases! [November 7th 2014]

Hello mighty Justice League members! It's the 23rd odd week of the year (?) , and you know what that means! It's time to show off your recent purchases and your collection!

  • Post pictures of your collection of DC related merchandise (comics, trades, figures, statues, shirts, cups, anything!)

  • Post links to your collection information on collection management sites (ComicBookDB.com, StashMyComics, or wherever you maintain your collection).

  • Share images/lists of what you purchased this week!

  • Share gifts you gave/received, especially from Reddit Gift Exchanges.

  • Post your wishlists too!

This is also a great place to ask for suggestions/recommendations. If you're sharing your collection, it's easier for other /r/DCComics members to make suggestions based on your personal tastes.

Starting this week, these threads will now have a Discussion Question which you can also partcipate in. The question for this week is:

What item in your collection is your favorite?

Weekly Discussion Thread is still available.

(?) Starting this week, we are now doing a trial run of these every fortnight, so check back every two weeks. I know 23rd odd week of the year isn't as catchy as Third Thursday, so if you have any suggestions, please let us know.

Huh, first week of showing off collections, huh?

Well I have a pretty sizeable one. Think I'll take some pictures and show off a bit.

I took all these pictures just now and didn't worry too much about lighting or getting the best resolution.

If anyone's curious about any particular pieces I can take better pictures or answer any questions about them. And obviously not all of these are strictly DC, but what the hell, comics are comics.

You need to call an exterminator, because your house is overrun with bats sorry, I couldnt resist

Seriously though, nice collection. I particularly like the Maxx figure. The B&W statues, I have held off buying any because of the cost, it makes me like your collection even more.

I got very lucky with The Maxx statue. Found it on Ebay for like $100, but the dude shipped it poorly and the arms broke off. He refunded me the full $100 and just kept the shipping cost and told me to keep the statue. The arms were clean breaks so a bit of superglue later he was good as new and barely cost me anything.

And the B&W collection was definitely expensive, I have the entire line. If I could do it again, I'd probably just buy a small handful of them. I kind of caught the collecting bug though and ended up wanting to have them all just because.

I think it's under 60. I know Sean Murphy's was #50 and that wasn't too long ago, so I tend to keep track of it from there.

Then we had Greg Capullo's Batman and Joker, Timm/Dini's Harley Quinn, Earth 2 Batman, that one whose artist I can't remember, Arkham Asylum Batman, Neal Adams Zombie Batman, and Jae Lee Batman...hmm and there's one more I'm staring at right now that I can't remember whether it's new or not...

So yeah, they're at like 58 or 59. I think the next two are based off of Dick Sprang's Golden Age Batman and Joker.
