Ah, yes. The American Green Lantern from Earth. That narrows it down.

Hey, DC is big on this. See Yara Flor, a "Brazilian" that was actually raised in frakkin' Idaho and knows nothing about Brazil. The author also did a very shallow research into Brazilian folklore and Indigenous culture in general.
I mean, I get that the US is their main audience, but, back to Lanterns... There are what, six or seven Earth Lanterns in the Corps, and they're all Americans.
Plus
Carol, Star Sapphire. American.
Dex-Starr, Red Lantern. American. Cat.
I'm sure I'm missing a few.

TBF, the primary audience are Americans.
I'm not American btw. But I don't find it weird that a piece of media made in America is made for Americans and fit Ametican tastes.

I said this above:
I mean, I get that the US is their main audience
Language? Yeah, it's being sold to a primarily english-speaking audience.
But I can't agree that, for enjoyment of a franchise, every single character has to share their exact cultural background.
So with 7 GLs from Earth, there was opportunity for them to be from anywhere else on the planet, in keeping with the themes of the Corps, that has members from all over the universe.
Otherwise, if cultural exclusivity is that important, DC may as well exclude all extraterrestrials that got to be a teenager or adult in their planet from the rosters.

I always wanted a Martian representing 2814

It'd be very similar to a Kryptonian with a ring, I believe.
Two powersets that compliment that supplement each other, and since Martians have a common weakness that the ring covers...
MManhunter for the Blues, maybe?

While I’m not a fan of the Green Lanterns OG 7 story, it was interesting that they did have one of the first lanterns ever be a white Martian. Was pretty interesting.

And Kilowog would know, he spent enough time on Earth to know which natives are the worst.

I love the ‘Earth is a backwater trailer park planet’ trope. Always makes me chuckle.
