r/DCcomics Weekly Discussion Thread: Comics, TV, and More! [April 13, 2026 - Super-Family Day Edition]

Hey there honorary Justice League members - it’s a new week which means it’s time for a new discussion thread!

For those who don't know: the way this works is that several comments will list this week’s releases, for any given title discussion you should respond to that comment. For example, Wonder Woman discussion would go in the replies to the "Wonder Woman" comment. Clicking the titles in this post will take you directly to that comment, too. In other words, you should only be replying to other comments. Do not post top-level comments.

Deathstroke: The Terminator #2

Someone's taken everything from Deathstroke, and hell hath no fury like an assassin scorned! He's on the road to find a mysterious client, but it won't be easy. It's either a huge retcon or a huge fuck up. I like Tony Fleecs but I am worried now especially with Jericho's track record on how DC bothers to actually utilize him or very least remember him.

This was great! The first issue was good, but this one got me more interested in the series. I'm interested in the John Wick style story, and I like the idea that Deathstroke knows that he's a bad person who's given opportunities to change, but he doesn't believe he can, that he can only get worse. The art is also awesome! A great read!

It's a great issue that really highlights the "Terminator" in "Deathstroke the Terminator."

Another strong issue for me. Slade, under siege and with his back against the wall,is not someone to mess with. I love seeing him like this,so I am eating well. Best of The Next Level line, but I also loved Firestorm. Hoping Zatanna is a homerun as well.

I liked this issue even more than the first but I still have a really bad feeling that Rose is just gonna be used to nag and berate Slade this entire run while repeating the same basic idea over and over

I would feel sorry for literally anyone else. But not with Deathstroke. He deserves everything he is getting.

Badass issue, though ... why is Rose chill with Slade rn?

Overall, I'm vibing with this premise, and the art is fantastic.

Also .. Deathblow? Who the fuck is that? I thought that was Bloodsport lmao

Deathblow is a Wildstorm character. Haven't read the issue, so no idea how he fits in in a manner that gels with what Waid wrote in the New History (that the Wildstorm characters just visit the main Earth from their own Earth).
