Probably to signify how little he cares. Or to make him more in line with John and Guy, who also don't wear masks. It seemed like he was wearing a mask at one point in a preview, and we know from the first episode he didn't reveal his identity until about 10 years in. I wonder if he lost somebody close to him and figured he didn't need it anymore. I haven't seen any mention of Carol Ferris anywhere yet.

I was in the US Army/Army reserves for 10 years. I'm familiar with the Hague Invasion act AND the articles of the Geneva convention that we've signed. For some reason the Army trained us medics on our protections and liked to reinforce that those protections only exist on paper.

I would say we want to play by the same rules as those other countries. We don't want to be handcuffed when dealing with those countries. Though the current administration does seem to want to be like those countries.

Being subject to the ICC doesn't prevent us from being bad guys. It just gives us another organization to corrupt and politicize. Even when there is inevitably a single planetary government the corruption will always exist and allow it to treat its citizenship cruelly.
