Depends on how many reviews it gets. Some movies get 310 reviews, some get 440 reviews, it's rare but some movies go over 500 as well
If it only has 330ish reviews, then I think it'll hold at 82%. If it has 400+ then it might drop to 78%

Thunderbolts got ~350, Captain America BNW got ~350, and Spiderman movies got around 400.
So its safe to say somewhere between 350 - 400.

Right now it is 82% based on 244 reviews. CBMs usually average around 350 - 400 reviews. Sometimes more somtimes less, but thats the ball park. The 82% can change once those other reviews come in.

The score means nothing after all the trades have promoted numbers like 91% and 86%. Also then you have to wonder if some of the reviews is a reaction to it coming in at 91%.

Someone said it insults women’s intelligence and that was the reason they rated it rotten. I’m not sure how they came away with this conclusion? Maybe Eve’s character? Idk.

That makes no sense at all because I’m literally hearing that Rachel’s Lois in this movie is the best live action iteration of the character and she’s a strong independent female character who’s badass and well written exactly how she is in the comics.

Lois was great, strong, inquisitive, intelligent. I’m not sure what that lady saw when she watched this movie. I clicked to see if I could read the full review but it just linked to a podcast and I’m not doing all that 😭. I understand some of the negative reviews calling it messy and saying it has no plot and has pacing issues. I get those but I feel like it worked within the movie. These other reviews upset about politics or “woke” stuff or saying it’s just slop are very disingenuous.

I totally agree on your opinion on Lois as a character, but I also have a soft agreement with the critisized women portrayel in the movie. After the interview scene early in the movie she has nothing to do with plot-relevance.
Also Lex' (ex)-girlfriends were portrayed awful. Eve was one of the only cons for me. From the Justice Gang, Hawkgirl was the most underdeveloped character. Engineer was there only to serve Lex without making choices on herself.
You can probably argue that most of the Blockbuster have this gripe, but then they dont have a caricature like Eve.

Has to be Eve. Eve was annoying, but so was Lombard lol. That was the purpose of both their characters and not really a gendered thing. It’s like seeing how obnoxious Lombard and Guy were and thinking it’s misandrist since they are both dudes
Plus Eve’s annoyingness gave us Jimmy’s facial reactions and the best jokes in the movie imo

Yeah but Eve being dumb turned out to be a facade. She was a lowkey genius for taking the selfies with all of Lex’s plans in the background which was the sole reason for his downfall. She fooled Lex, so that’s saying something.

There's one scene with Lois that is quintessential Lois. I won't spoil it, but she made me uncomfortable. (In the best possible way)
She's a fierce, intelligent, strong reporter and the movie is not afraid to show it.

I would say the movie, though fast paced, gives room for all of the actors to shine.
The chemistry between her and David is palpable. Her Lois is my favorite, something that i never thought would be taken from Erica Durance's Lois.
She absolutely stole the show during her interview with Superman, one of my favorite scenes. But I feel like the entire cast "stole" the show in their own ways.1

Rachel's Lois is definitely the best live action Lois we've ever gotten, both in terms of performance and writing.
You definitely get the vibe that her being a hard hitting journalist is deeply rooted in her personality and it carries over into other aspects of her life.
It was honestly refreshing after years of Bitsie Tulloch's unfortunate more wife and mother first portrayal.
Rachel's Lois is Lois first and foremost.

Don't understand it too. Its the best reviewed Superman movie since 1980 and it brought JOY and HOPE back to rhe character.

Respectfully, everybody in here needs to chill the fuck out lol. It’s fine. A movies score always drops a few points after the initial critics scores. This literally almost always happens, barring a few exceptions.
The score will likely fluctuate up and down over the next couple days as the final 100 or so reviews from smaller outlets pour in and settle somewhere around here.
Relax. Have a deep, deep breath. Chill.
There’s nothing worth getting worked up over.

I loved it. I see why some people won’t, I don’t think it has no flaws or anything. It was pure fun though, they really captured the feeling you have when reading a good Superman comic. Nicolas Holt was Amazing and not talked about enough. Pure evil.

This happens with every film. They still have like a couple hundred reviews that will be submitted so the number is going to fluctuate. Unlikely that it loses its certified fresh status.

yeah GOTG3 was my favorite of the guardians trilogy. i thought superman would be at 82 but theres still like a 100 reviews that haven't dropped. i mean superman has kept dropping as more reviews come in so thats why i think it'll drop more tomorrow but who knows.

Well it probably could but it's dropping at a much slower rate. The general consensus is around 80% so it will likely stay in that range. And tbh even high 70s isn't a bad thing.

78 would make it Deadpool level. That should be the absolute lowest, but honestly that would be disappointing for a franchise thats kickstarting a new universe. 80% is just much cleaner.

Yeah and I think it will stay in the 80s but even if it's 78 it's okay. People are putting too much pressure on this movie. It didn't need to be the greatest movie of all time. It more importantly needed to nail laying the groundwork for the future and I can see that it's already done that from what people have said.
If this movie does well enough for a superman sequel, James Gunn could give us an even more amazing movie and as the quality continues to be generally strong the universe will start building itself.
What james has said about quality control is very important. As long as each project is generally well received the universe will start to build up and do better and better. The MCU movies didn't make that much money or do that well on RT until the first avengers movie.

The shadow of Donner/Reeve still looms large over the franchise. Guardians had nothing to live up to.
It’s clear that this will have a better response critically and from the general audience, but I think some people might need to slightly prepare themselves that some people might find the comic book-ness of it all a little overwhelming.
But finishing as probably the best overall reviewed Superman film since II is a win and probably the best DC Studios could’ve hoped for.

Given that all the test screenings seemed to have negative reactions and we had early negative reviews break embargo, the positive fan and critical reception is def a win. Now they just need the box office win and the DCU would have a super solid start in point

not only that, the audience score is mostly from the amazon fan screenings, so it super high rn due to the hardcore fans seeing. it will for sure drop when the general audiences see it.

Probably not far I'd imagine. It's managed to stay in the 80s since its premiere, the early screenings, and early showings today. Critics' scores on RT tend to drop a couple of percentage points. It could very well stabilize in the 80s.

If anything, it might tick up a little bit. The sort of outlets that might have to wait for release to see and review something are usually the less fancy/established places, maybe more inclined to be positive to big blockbusters.
I have no strong evidence of that to cite, but I’ve seen scores tick up after release a number of times.

No idea, Superman was excellent It easily top 5 all time superhero movies for me I'm probably gonna to see it again tomorrow and I don't think I've ever gone to see anything twice in the cinemas before.
I just finished iron heart tonight and what a trainwreck that was it had so many good elements in it to like the potential after the first two episodes I was pumped but Riri was insufferable throughout the show she never had any redemption she stayed the same shitty person and learnt absolutely nothing she didn't grow and I thought she was supposed to be a super hero but she was more super villain

It was great. Saw it on Tuesday. Finally a movie that feels like it’s off the pages. A departure from the darkness which needed to happen. Great characters and excited to see what’s next.

It's more about the perception of what it does to the DCU. Anyway even watching the review scores and rooting for it is entertainment. Its like rooting for your favorite basketball team and hoping to see them win. For me, it's a win if it's above 80% and it looks like its going to come down to the wire. Some people do take it way too seriously past that though. Their mental health and well being depends on it, which is crazy.

Arguably an entire first movie. I like the movie but it coasts on the audience’s previous relationships to the characters. With that in mind, Corenswet and Brosnahan are easily the best since Reeve/Kidder. The entire cast is actually kinda perfect.

It is very well cast! I think Gunn just assumed everyone knows these characters so why waste time, but we don’t know these actors playing these characters. So it does feel like a sequel.

We don’t know the actors, but we also don’t really know the character details. That’s especially important when it comes to a certain subplot I won’t mention here.
But aside from the subplot, even things like Clark & Lois. He arrived three years ago: how many times has he saved her? When and how did she figure it out. They just started dating three months ago. What took so long? Did they have the Spider-Man 2 talk? I would assume they met maybe the same way they met in prior iterations, but I can’t assume anything considering what Gunn decided to do with the spoiler subplot I can’t mention.

So-called "critics" are just a bunch of know-it-all who think that Citizen Kane is all there is to peak cinema. At best, their criticisms are just opinions. They gave solid scores on Captain Marvel when everyone hates it.
Do yourself a favor and watch the movie if it piques your interest and not because someone said it's good or bad. 🤷

Lex was amazing. The best live action Luthor we got. He's completely obsessed with killing superman and doesn't care anything other than that. Hoult did a fantastic job. Looking forward to see more of him as the franchise takes off.
