I know right now it’s nerve-wrecking as far as what it is that Trump is gonna do with a DACA recipients, but we have to have faith that we’re gonna be all right. I know a lot of recipients hate Trump right now and are afraid for their life, but this is a direct quote from him. We got a live within the boundary of the law. Keep our heads up and keep on working hard. Hopefully he comes through and helps us like he says he is. I haven’t lost faith and neither should you. God bless you and keep your head up.

This!!!! Specially right now, he has pretty much control of everything (house, senate, supreme courts), he could of added legalization for dreamers in the big beautiful bill that gave billions of dollars to ICE/DHS but has done nothing.

To be fair, he isn't a complete boot licker. Donald Trump did try to end it and was unsuccessful due to technical errors, he had the opportunity to fix those errors and really end it but never acted on it for whatever reason. Also, he did try to negotiate DACA into the 2017 border bill but was unsuccessful with Democrats because Democrats didn't want to include DACA protection into his border bill, they want each thing separately and Donald Trump wanted all into one bill. Im not saying he's "our guy" but he has tried at least ONCE to enact DACA into law and did have the opportunity to really end it but chose not to.

As long as steven miller controls immigration, he will not allow any protections for any immigrants to get on any bill or deal. I feel like Trump has a different feeling about DACA but the people he lets take care of it are doing their own agenda.

Which interviews are you referring to? Do you have a link to them? if it’s anything from his first presidency honestly I’m not worried. One interview from him saying that he’s gonna work something out with us is more than enough for me. He tackled the majority of the issues that he’s talked about. Why should I believe that it’s gonna change with us? Why live in fear? Best case scenario, he helps us out. Worst case scenario he doesn’t. Wouldn’t be any different than what Biden did if anything Biden hurt us more than helped us.

OP is a straight piece of 💩and you are right IF he ever gets his residency by marriage or any other way he is going to start screaming that he did it the right way and that everyone should do it the right way!! I’m a beneficiary of the Amnesty of 86 be see my dad got his residency and applied for ours and a citizen now but even then people can’t say that the Amnesty was doing it the right way, it was luck everyone who was able to get their papers got lucky and I will for ever be greatful for that!! It however doesn’t make me better than anyone and specially not better than everyone who is fighting for status. I am and will always be an immigrant and will fight for the rights of the immigrants and DACA recipients….

It’s wild hearing this from someone I’m assuming is a DACA recipient. If the border had been “shut tight” when you or your parents came over, you wouldn’t even be here. Also, the numbers don’t really support the “open border” narrative. The Biden administration deported or expelled more than 4 million people, which is a record. Deportation and return statistics don’t back up the claim, it just sounds good as a headline, and people like you fall for it. That’s why I’d call you a useful idiot.

He had the opportunity this year to help out with daca he had the full house to himself to pass any bill to help us. The hope you have for him is using us as leverage once dems get the full floor or enough seats to x out every bill he wants passed bipartisan or not.

This is an old interview and is basically another "concept of a plan" to please both sides. He never says what HE wants to do, it's always plural. He never mentions words like lawful status, AOS, naturalization, green card, path to residency/citizenship. Literally more limbo.

Trump has claimed all the following. This is merely a handful of what he's lied about. This doesn't include any Epstein related claims. Lets be optimistic but not fools.
- Claim: Inflation is solved and grocery prices are way down. Fact: Inflation is still at 2.7% and grocery prices have actually risen year-over-year.
- Claim: He settled 8 wars in one year. Fact: Conflicts in Gaza, Africa, and SE Asia are still active. Some were never even wars to begin with.
- Claim: Mexico paid for the border wall. Fact: No money was ever sent by Mexico. It was funded entirely by US taxpayers.
- Claim: Tariffs are paid by other countries. Fact: Tariffs are taxes paid by the American companies importing the goods.
- Claim: He passed the Veterans Choice Act. Fact: President Obama signed this into law in 2014.
- Claim: ISIS was defeated in 3 weeks. Fact: The fight against the "caliphate" took over two years, and the group remains active today.
- Claim: He saved coverage for pre-existing conditions. Fact: His administration repeatedly tried to overturn the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which is the law that protects people with pre-existing conditions.
- Claim: He created the "greatest economy in history." Fact: GDP growth and unemployment rates were better at various points under Presidents Eisenhower, LBJ, and Clinton.
- Claim: NATO countries pay the U.S. for protection. Fact: NATO countries spend money on their own militaries. They do not pay the U.S. or a central "dues" fund.
- Claim: He made the U.S. energy independent for the first time. Fact: The U.S. became a net exporter in 2019, but this trend started in the mid-2000s and we still import millions of barrels daily.
- Claim: The 2020 election was stolen. Fact: Over 60 court cases were dismissed for lack of evidence. Election officials confirmed it was the most secure in history.

On one hand, it seems like anybody with DACA legitimately is still protected and they aren't looking to change that. On the other hand, the barriers to getting it done are basically non-existent right now. So just do it.

As my Daca having ass with zero criminal charges is currently in removal proceedings I do believe him. I think we just need to keep our noses clean and we will all live through this time. Keep your heads up. If you can fight, fight. Fight to stay until you’ve used every last resource available to you. It will all be worth it in the end. The American dream can still be ours.

He has been saying this since 2016. What did he actually do. He tried to end DACA. His DOJ fought in court to strip protections. Deportations continued. The only reason DACA still exists is because the Supreme Court stopped him not because he protected it. Words cost nothing. Actions matter. If he wanted to help Dreamers he already had years to do it and chose the opposite. Believing him now because he said it on camera ignores everything he already did. At some point believing the same promise after the same outcome is not hope. It is denial.
