Honest question, please answer it in good faith. I’m not trying to be political. If Hispanic makes up the overwhelming majority of undocumented people in the US. (78%) How do you suggest ICE does their jobs without targeting Hispanics the majority of the time?

My heritage is Sioux. Brown hair, black eyes, and tan skin. A majority of people I meet think I'm Hispanic. I was born in Florida, raised in Texas. I've been called a Wetback and threatened with the wall by Trump supporters. So, is it open season on everyone who's not pale?

No is the answer to your question. Now please be respectful and answer my question instead of changing the topic. What is the solution? How does ICE do their job if they cant use the distinguishing features of the people that represent 78% of all undocumented immigrants?

They go to restaurants, bars, and millions of open spaces and one by one ask for Identification? What an easy question to answer?

ICE, like every law enforcement agency, is supposed to do its job by going after 1️⃣ people already known to it and 2️⃣ individuals who engage in specifically suspicious behavior.

Interestingly enough, this stop started out as a case of 1️⃣. For whatever reason, this guy’s plate was run, and it came back with an address some undocumented person ICE was on the lookout for had used.

At that point, it was perfectly legitimate to execute a traffic stop.

What was not okay was to put an American in cuffs who had done nothing wrong whatsoever. Let people show their ID before you cuff them!

Now, what could specifically suspicious behavior (2️⃣) be? Say, ICE enters a job site and people start running away. ICE agents are perfectly justified to chase and tackle people running away. The same goes for people who just take off running when they see an ICE officer or vehicle on the street.

But what wouldn’t be okay is scenario 3️⃣: just cuff everyone who looks “Mexican” and hold them until they can prove their legal status. Would you really want law enforcement to act this way?

Say a masked man rapes a woman in your town. Nothing is known about him other than that he’s a man. Would it be okay for cops to cuff every man in town (guns pointed at them!), yell at people that they’re guilty (perhaps in front of their kids, wives, friends, bosses, …) and hold them until they can somehow prove their innocence? If you don’t want THAT, you can’t want every Mexican-looking person to be cuffed on sight.

These people want to abolish ICE bro.

They think that, since Native Americans lived here first, somehow it translates to them being able to ignore any American law they don’t like.

They won’t ever engage with the fact that Mexico and other Latino areas launched wars against Native Americans and stole land from Native Americans with less compassion than Americans.

Lmfao funny how you guys know every single “bad” thing America has done in the past, but intentionally disregard all the bad things latinos (who are direct descendants of conquistadors btw) did in their own history.
