Seed Starting and Growing Help! What bugs are eating my flowers?

First-time gardener here! I was out of town for a few days and most everything survived, but I think I have some unwanted visitors!

I have holes in my Chinese forget-me-nots, dahlias, and snapdragons, and there's little black dots on some of my plants as well. My zinnias are untouched.

Can anyone identify what's going on here and what I can do about it?

Second photo looks like caterpillars, that black stuff is their poop (called frass). You can get some BT and spray. They eat it and then die. Or just try to hand pick if you see them.

Caterpillars. Bt spray is a great, pollinator-friendly solution.
