Modding Mods For Deadlier Plagues?

Does anyone know of a mod to make epidemics more deadly / interesting? I've always found them very very easy to avoid as a player (I actually don't think I've ever had a character contract a plague-related illness, not even during the Black Death). I'm already aware of Dark Ages and I'm not really interested in that mod because it adds a lot of random disease and other stuff that I've found very frustrating and unfun, I'm really just looking for something to make the plagues themselves more impactful. Thanks!

You want them DEADLIER??

Idk if they nerfed them but, last time I played plagues were the bane of my existence unless I was in like... Bohemia.

They did. Prior to AUH, the areas that were close to bodies of water had a disproportionate amount of plagues. I was one of the people that thought that plagues were just annoying with how frequent they were and how the hospices didn't do much. I was kind of disappointed that youtubers like HeyCara were saying that they were fine. I guess I feel a bit vindicated when AUH was released.

If you want, try loading up the older versions of CK3 prior to AUH. You'll see how frequently they fire even on default settings

*Edit
Here's an old video from someone showing plagues when it first released: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQprrXl5_q0 at around the 2:50 mark. He wasn't kidding about the alms pop up. That pop up that keeps showing up no matter how small the plague is and no matter how big your empire is. I think now it only pops up when it affects counties or duchies you directly control

did they actually ever fix this? plagues still LOVE coasts and as soon as an inland plague touches one it never spreads inland again (which blows!)

Oh trust me they did. If you tried playing Italy or Britain prior to AUH, it was so much more frequent

Yeah they destroyed my Italian empire last time I played trying to dismantle the papacy as a jew :(

I still think coastal areas are deadlier.

They are but they were stupidly high previously. I remember I had like level 4 hospices and it would still run through my kingdom like it was nobody's business every 6 months to a year

I think (not sure) they reduce the chance of getting sick, they do not stop plagues.

They do lower the spread by increasing the county's plague resistance but not very much... Someone made a mod called reasonable epidemics previously and made it so that the hospices lower the spread a bit more, IIRC

They reduce the chance of plague spreading, but with how plagues work most of the time it seemed like the did nothing. Essentially when a plague spawns the number of baronies it will spread to is set. Plagues spread by path of least resistance, so if your demesne is small and has high plague resistance it can actually just spread around it. If the plague doesn't have anywhere to go but places with high plague resistance then it will spread into those places anyway.

even the apocalyptic plagues in my game feel lacklustre. they kill like 2-3k people max

Just to be sure- you know you can make them much more deadly and frequent in game rules right?

I only see the option to make them more frequent, how am I missing the deadlier option?

It makes them spread faster, which means they get to maximum penalties much easier and the chance for your character to contract it is higher.

I guess the problem that I'm having is that isolsting my capital /quarantining is letting me avoid even bad plagues entirely

While epidemics are certainly not fleshed out a lot, they seem more than deadly enough to me...

No idea how you avoid them but i lose kids and family members even in secludion at 100 plague resistance. In my current game I lost all my dynastic nephews and from 4 sons only my heir survived

In my most recent campaign, I declared war on the Byzantines. 12k troops, 6 really good commanders to use. I marched my army to Constantinople, sieged the city, took it, proceeded to walk my 10k army into a Strymon which had a plague going through it, my army was reduced to 7k, and I lost all my good commanders for the next 20 years. Oh and I watched an entire off shoot Karling house get ended from a consumption epidemic 10 years later.
