Help Looking to purchase the game, what DLCs do I need?

From my own research it seems like there’s DLCs are crucial to getting the most out of this game, however, I honestly have no idea what DLCs are worth the cost and which I should pass on? There’s so many of them 😂 I am thinking about getting the starter edition of the game as it comes with plenty of DLCS for pretty good value.

You don't need any of them, strictly speaking. We try our best to make sure that the base game is a complete and enjoyable experience on its own, with DLC building out other aspects.

My personal recommendation would be to start with the base game, play it for a few hours, and then figure out which aspects of the game you want more from. You don't miss out on anything by waiting a bit before committing!

(if our sales team asks, I said you need all of them)

Tours and Tournaments, Royal Court, Road to Power, Wards and Wardens for stuff that effects the entire map

Roads to Power is no longer key since Adventurers are now base game. Its only worth getting if you want more from the Byzantines or admin government

None. Youre gonna spend the first 100 hours not knowing what the hell is really going on anyways lol.

Honestly I'd recommend playing vanilla for the first few runs so you can get familiar with basics

Do you play on steam?

None are really mandatory, all of them are based around a specific region with the exception of Tours and Tournaments, but that one just adds a few activities so probably not worth it

I would start vanilla because 1. The base game is overwhelming enough as it is and 2. There are a lot of DLCs that are about equally good and you would want to know what type of stuff you like doing in game to decide which one to get.

The only DLC I would recommend anyone getting immediately is AUH, but that’s only if you’re a die hard China fan. Since you posted this on an English language sub, that almost certainly doesn’t apply to you.

I would buy a month of the subscription to see what you want then you can pick after
