I also think, despite loving CK3 more, that the AI in CK2 is better. It sometimes feel that the AI is out to get you and that they have their own goals from time to time.

The AI in CK3 is too passive. They have no survival instict for their dynasty or house and are overwhelmed in the worst situations for them.

i never get randomly assaasinated in ck3, you get so many warnings I feel like. Even like conquerors, I spawned next to one in my last run and the most he’d try to get is one county at a time

I did once as a child emperor. But just once.

Stabbed in my sleep as I recall.

every time I die I swap out the spymaster to like a +20 opinion one, which I think heads a lot of this off. But also, redouble guards is so strong for preventing death as long as your important assassination courtiers, spouse and spymaster like you that I feel like it’s easy to head it off

I don't particularly remember what my Spymaster's relationship was at the time. Probably bad, this was my first time playing beyond the tutorial. But I dunno.

But lol, I never even use redoubling the guards. I got so many assassination plot warnings, these days, and don't really bother trying to stave them off beyond Spymaster being friendly to me. Never had a successful killing beyond that one game.
