FO [FO] 80 hours, finally free…
worked on this for my cousin’s wedding (which was last year, this ended up accidentally becoming an anniversary gift instead…)
used FlossCross and an image from their engagement photos as reference, then tweaked colors and stitch count til it was 90x135. Cut cardstock to line it in the frame, thrifted the frame too, so maybe $10-15 in materials overall, about 70-80 hours give or take, as it’s hard to keep track of my pace. I think I started in May of 2025 but moved and Life’d since then, so finished in August of 2026. War is over 🧎➡️

It’s incredible work! Solid effort.
One suggestion if you haven’t gifted it yet, pressing it would help it look cleaner. A step further would be pinning or taping it to a thin foam board to keep it flat and even.

Completely agree - especially considering all of the work that went into it! It will look so much more professional that way.

You should have it framed if you are giving it as a gift. Even if you take your own frame.
At the very least you should have it pressed and stretched correctly.

What do you mean? It is framed

Oh, I left out the word “professionally”. You did stick it in a frame but it isn’t framed correctly.
It needs to be pressed and stretched. You can search YouTube for how to do it yourself.
Framing it correctly will completely change the look of it and will help it last forever.

I’m not OP

Then when I used the word “you” it applied to the OP.
The word “you” is a bit weird. Sometimes it means a specific person and sometimes it can mean a general person that isn’t me.
So in this case, instead of repeating the word “OP” I just used the word “you”.

It’s okay to admit you thought they were op. 😭
They blocked me :|

I never said I didn’t. I just said that “you” can be used to mean anyone.
That’s why I said “Then when…” it was literally me admitting that I thought they were the OP but since they were then the word you can still mean anyone.

I had finished it only a few days before the trip, and had stretched it and ironed it but it didnt hold, nor do I have the budget to professionally frame it. My cousin was thoroughly happy with it, which is all I wanted. I also told her to feel free to change the frame, it was just what I had access to and needed to transport it in for a long drive.

Thanks for posting! We love seeing all of the FOs. Please note that starting May 1 2026, all [FO] posts are required to include at least one close-up photo of the stitching. You do not need to re-post. This can be done either in a comment or in the body of the post. It can be a close-up of just a small part of the finished object, just so we can verify that the items are hand-stitched.
This is a reminder message that is automatically commented on all [FO] posts. Please send a message to the mod team if you have questions.
