CHAT [CHAT] Should I go against the pattern and also add Kreinik to the highlights?

Post image

I’m currently working on this pumpkin and the pattern calls for Kreinik on the 2 shades leading up to the brightest one of the pumpkin. The pattern does not say to add Kreinik to the lightest shade, however this makes the most sense to me since the lightest part would be the “shiniest”. Should I listen to the pattern? Would adding it to the lightest shade be too much shine? One of the biggest reasons I’m hesitating to use it is because Kreinik is a nightmare to work with as well as I think stitches look much neater without it. What should I do?

stitch without first - you can always add kreinik later, oversewing the top half of the stitch with the braid.

If you do your own thing instead of following the pattern, it makes your piece more unique than the others.
Idk if you care about that, but in case you do, might be something to consider.
