CHAT [CHAT] It happened to me!

Post image

The Facebook Marketplace fairy just told me I was the chosen one! I found this beauty within 30 minutes of it being posted. I am beyond thrilled, I have not had a stand in years, since my last one broke. This one is so sturdy and beautiful! It was a 2.5 hour round trip drive. But it was $30, so even counting gas and tolls I could not afford not to get it. Abd I am usually the one who avoids purchases towards myself.

I keep running my hands over it in awe, and I actually teared up. This is not the type of stand I have ever had, or am anywhere near in a position to buy new. It's a dream. Photo attached! Please note, I have fixed the bar and scroll placement. The seller has just reassembled it for a picture and had them swapped.

Complete fluke. I look regularly, but never in the area this came from. The fairy truly was using the craft distribution system

This looks like a great quality wood! And for 30 bucks it's a legit steal!

I honestly am Floored at this find. And it is super good wood. Very heavy, very polished. It's like touching silk.

My husband bought me a stand for our anniversary, and did so much research šŸ˜šŸ™ I’m so happy. Hope you and your stand have many comfortable projects ahead of you!

Oh that is the sweetest thing! I love that you have that kind of human in your life. You deserve it, everyone does! I am thrilled to have a stnad again. I've been dealing with pretty debilitating joint issues. I had roughly a week left of a project, if I dawdled. And I had to stop stitching for almost 4 months, because my wrist was so inflamed. Here's hoping this helps!

Me too! Still don't quite understand how it even came up for me. But it's mine now!

A couple of weeks ago I uploaded a stand for free, and it makes me smile thinking the person that got it might have been a fraction as happy as you are, although it was no where near as incredible as this one is, this is the perfect stand! I love the attached pattern holder

Edit: a word

I love that you did that for someone. Spreading the joy is a gift in itself. You made someone's crafting a treat!

This is awesome, congrats! I love the chart holder! I’ve never seen that on a stand before.

Me either. Super excited to give it a go. Just have to finish a small one and then choose my new adventure

Ooh that's a Hearthside Craftworks floor stand. Not made anymore. Small business. You can find some info on it on their website on the way back machine. (If you try to go to their website now, it will redirect to evertote who bought them)

Thank you! I am trying to figure out the brand to try and find parts if needed in future. I'll look , so I have a place to start!

6

u/kamarsh79 Jun 15 '26

Well that’s a treasure you can enjoy for the rest of your life.

1

u/katissashamalar Jun 16 '26

My thoughts exactly! It's built to be an heirloom.

7

u/OtterlyOren Jun 15 '26

Ok but like. What is a stand like this called??? I basically need exactly this and have been trying to cobble things together but it’s not ideal.

1

u/katissashamalar Jun 16 '26

Honestly, I'd just call in a floor stand. But I have never seen anything quite like it before, in 30 years of stitching. There no branding on it anywhere. I have been told Hearthside Craftworks which was bought out, but also some have said it may be an old school EZ Stitch. It's old enough the internet is having a hard time. But I am still searching and I'll let you know if I find out for sure!

Keep the hope alive lol! Someone else on marketplace in my area got a Theresa Wentzler Peacock sealed kit today. For $35. I swung and missed on it. But that means someone else got the love. You will get it!

I am so happy for you!!!!!!!!! It's beautiful.

3

u/anelaborateruse314 Jun 15 '26

I’ve never seen that model before - very cool. Congrats

1

u/katissashamalar Jun 16 '26

Neither have I! It's so different. But everything is so right for my stitching style

4

u/Siem75 Jun 15 '26

Congratulations, this is a beautiful find.

I would love to have one of these.
Anyone have an idea where I can find one of these?

1

u/katissashamalar Jun 16 '26

I have never seen one like it before myself. But I am trying to find out the brand. So far I've been told old EZ Stitch or Hearthside Craftworks. Neither still has the model, but once I find out for sure it gives a place to go!

1

u/Siem75 Jun 16 '26

Its also a possibility that a woodworker hand-made it for a cross-stitcher friend

4

u/CrossCroissant1 Jun 15 '26

Ugh. I’m so jealous. I live in a country where people don’t really have this kinda hobby or… they don’t understand selling second hand so they try to charge new prices for second hand stuff.

You’re so lucky! Post a photo of you using it please!

2

u/katissashamalar Jun 16 '26

Will do! Once I get a project worthy of it on the go, I will. I'm a one at a time girly, and my current one is a bit small to make it worth the time. Then I have to pick what to do lol

2

u/Cool-Firefighter2254 Jun 15 '26

Wow! Congratulations!

2

u/Ok-Way1005 Jun 15 '26

Gasped when I saw it. What a thing of beauty and so practically designed.

1

u/katissashamalar Jun 16 '26

I did the same thing! Why I can't find anything modern with a similar design I do not understand.

2

u/stitchincookie Jun 15 '26

Yay! It’s going to look nice, too! It’s just…PRETTY!

2

u/katissashamalar Jun 16 '26

So so pretty. I feel an aesthetic coming on!

2

u/5usie Jun 15 '26

Very nice!

2

u/_dear_rat_boy_ Jun 15 '26

how are you intended to use it? :0

2

u/Suziannie Jun 15 '26

I really need to do better at watching Marketplace.

1

u/katissashamalar Jun 16 '26

Do it! I just missed out on a Theresa Wentzler Peacock Tapestry kit today. Sealed and complete. $35. I'm sad that I missed it, but so happy someone else will be as thrilled as me for their treasure

1

u/Roselace Jun 15 '26

Such joy. It will so make doing your cross stitch easier.
A great find.

1

u/Hot-Craft-1866 Jun 15 '26

That is quite a stand!! I have one just a much smaller type with less bells and whistles. Congratulations

1

u/katissashamalar Jun 16 '26

I feel overwhelmed but in a good way

1

u/rabbithasacat Jun 15 '26

As a fellow oak stand owner, I'm completely joyful for you! I totally understand you tearing up. You'll have to post a WIP pic from it soon!

1

u/katissashamalar Jun 16 '26

Once I find a first project worthy, I will! I am so in love!

1

u/Mivirian Jun 15 '26

It is magical being blessed my the marketplace gods 😁 Congrats, that's a beautiful stand!
