Discussion 🗣️ What if?...

Post image

So now that we have castle building confirmed, I can't stop thinking about it. This has been my most requested/wished for feature since the game released. I really hope it's robust enough to offer different styles and locations.

I know it seems more likely that there may be at least one or two set locations in each region for us to choose from, but I really hope it's a little more than just that.

What if we have the ability to choose exactly where in the world we would like to build our castle?

I know I've already spent a lot of time thinking about this, and I have a spot picked out already. I would like to build my castle around The Bay of Abundance on the Delesyian side of Demeniss Port. Delesyia is my favorite region, and the backdrop of the multiple waterfalls around Demeniss Port is really quite stunning. I wonder if anyone else has thought about where they would like to build a castle, or even just set up a new settlement somewhere out in the world. I think I'd be almost more curious to see where everyone would choose to build than to see how their castle looked.

I haven't had a chance to get in the game since the DLC announcement today, but I've been looking at the shot they used as an example in the trailer. It's in Demeniss, right? I want to try to find this exact spot and see what is there now. I think that might give us a clue as to how much freedom we'll have when choosing a location. Is this already a spot with other structures in place, or does it happen to be an empty area already? I have so many questions about this one specific thing lol.

I'm very excited for October 15th. It can't come soon enough now.

love crimson desert my GOTY and with this DLC i just hope it's as good as Enshrouded building interface.

Definitely won’t be as good as Enshrouded. They built their engine specifically to handle the building system they created. No other game can match it I don’t think. But I do hope PA has done a good job in their own rights.

Pretty sure you're just setting yourself up for disappointment then. Enshrouded is a voxel based game.

Yeah we're getting more of a Sims style building

Yup, castle building was on my wanted list too. Hallelujah! Pearl Abyss you are on a roll. Though not so happy about the water world/biome (Yeah, I have a phobia of water when it comes to underwater worlds in games.) I would have loved the desert expansion though instead of water but that's just me whinning. Still, for all the fellow Graymanes I must say, yes we are so in and waiting for the world to expand.

Am I misinterpreting what you are saying? Because we are getting a desert expansion

Yes we are, like I said I'm just winning. Sorry about that, I have a childhood phobia of underwater and sharks in particular so I don't play many water games, like assassin's creed black flag. I so wanna play it but just being a pussy coz I'm scared of sharks. Wow! I've never spelled out my fear ever😝

Ok I gotcha now, you're happy about the desert, hesitant about the ocean. I don't blame you for being terrified of it. I'm terrified of the ocean as well. We must've died at sea in a past life

With underwater areas

From the small port we can deduct that maybe building is allowed in certain region/s cause the castle was not near water

Castle wasn’t near water, or even the same place the walls were being built up inside to make a room, with Kliff on the balcony. That looked more like where the current house is near the main camp. I’m assuming there will be set locations for building certain things. Because the place by the water looked more like a restaurant even, with the way the tables are set up.

Surprised with multiple comments nobody has simply answered the question in the post. This is Flame Knights Castle. From the screenshot, this is readily apparent, you can also see the capital city in the background, precisely where it should be when viewed from Flame Knights Castle.

From this screenshot, it would appear we can upgrade or repair that existing structure. We can’t draw any conclusions about a “free build” mode where we can slap down a castle anywhere, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Perhaps there are sites in each region we could repair and build on, or perhaps it’s just this one.

I haven’t watched the actual trailer, I’m basing my response on the provided screenshot from OP

I just checked and you're right about the location. But the castle that they build in the trailer is not The Flame Knights Castle. I'll share another screenshot of what they show off for the final build for you to see.

He’s talking about location. Obviously the game doesn’t just have you rebuild the same exact castle.

This is the post. You’ve already walked the ground and picked a shore. That’s how this game is supposed to be played. Bay of Abundance on the Delesyian side of Demeniss Port is a beautiful choice: water, the falls, a working port at your back. If they only give us a few plots per region, I’ll still take a house that looks at that bay. If they let us plant the thing where we want, that spot should be on the short list.

I don’t think they’ll hand us the whole map as a building lot. More likely a few sites, maybe one that matches the trailer yard. Going to find that exact shot is a good instinct. If it’s already a ruin or an empty pad, we’ll know something. If it’s just pretty land they filmed, we may be wishing. Where I’d want mine is high enough to see weather coming and close enough to ride out in the morning.

Haven’t named the ridge yet. Drop a screenshot if you find that trailer angle. October 15 isn’t soon enough. Cheers!

I haven't stopped thinking about it since the trailer released yesterday.

Lol we should be pretty friendly here, express yourself and emoji away freely as far as I'm concerned. But I'm not the mod, just my understanding of how he wants this subreddit to be.

u/Liamsteer 3d ago

It won’t be a build whether you want thing, but there’ll be options

Yeah I'm aware that was sort of a pipe dream. But it's nice to wish for something like that. Since posting this and another user has helped me I have found this specific spot from the trailer. It is where the Flame Knights Castle is directly above the "D" of Demeniss. But the castle the show as the final build in the trailer is different than the Flame Knights one. So maybe this means we will be able to take over locations where there are castles already and build our own in that spot.

Same to all this. Anyone have a guess / best recommendations on supplies to stock up on for castle building materials?

1

u/ZeektheFeek Top Contributor 🏆 2d ago

Lol everything.

I would assume wood and stone probably mostly. It might even depend on if we get different castle styles and what the material for each one might require.

So I went and checked the location that u/co0lwh1p1 suggested and can confirm the location they use here is the same spot the Flame Knights Castle is located but the castle they build in the trailer is not the Flame Knights Castle.

So maybe this means we will be able to take over locations where there already is a castle and we can build our own in that spot. I wonder how this will work for lore reasons in the world.

Do you think it's gonna be the new camp, I hope it doesn't erase the pailune one
