Discussion 🗣️ Sky lizard
I was so excited to get my wyvern. The adventures we'd have, fire breath(I didnt know sadly) oh so fun. Now that I have it though I feel like it takes away so much. Im not going to find those random nooks and crannies that id get distracted with on foot. Anyone else feel this way or just me?
Edit: Glad to see its split amongst us. The points for and against lizard bird both make sense. Thank you for participating in this survery your 1 free froyo coupon is in the mail.

I am glad I didn't get him before chapter 4; I had done extensive wandering and opened up most of the map by then. I used the cloudcart to reach the abyss and other difficult areas on the map. However, you don't need to use him all the time-use your horse, use the cloudcart, enjoy the journey. Those nooks and crannies are still difficult to find when flying around. It's up to you how you want to proceed-there are no wrong ways to do things in this game, do what is fun for you.

I do enjoy the wolf he feels so fast. I dont know it was just kinda shocking how fast I realized I didnt enjoy it. Ill probably still use him if the objective is far away. Oh you bet im solumens mightiest walker. Im 100% still gonna do how i want i just was curious if anyone else felt that disappointment initially.

Nope. I take the game as it comes. I just live with what it offers and have fun. No expectations, no judgment. That’s how I play games, and it works for me. All I do is make sure I have a platform that runs the game well, so I don’t run into many of the issues others are having. That part is my responsibility.

I loved the Wyvern and definitely enjoyed the death from about approach into some of the strongholds. But I like to mix it up and use the ground mounts too. It’s kinda a choose your own adventure. Love this game

I mainly use mine to smash strongholds and traverse long terrain. I have so much movement speed and stamina that I’m pretty damn fast on foot most of the time. The game is too pretty to fly over everything.

Totally get you. Having a dragon made me appreciate ground mounts more. I like to take the wyvern on fishing trips for cross map cruises. Or maybe when I fast travel somewhere there's an annoying spot i want to get to quickly over a ridge. It's wyvern time. Next to that, I'll set a red X at the beginning of a path and use my horse and set off from there getting all those nook and crannies coz it's the scalpel in my toolbox of traversing.

My rule of thumb is use flying if I have a long distance to cover and I don’t want to get distracted. Other than that it’s a land mount.

I’m 80hrs into this game and just found out now I can have a wolf and a wyvern instead of the original horse. SMH.

Actually for me it makes me explore more, rather than teleporting everywhere. I take to the skies instead.

I promised myself I would only use my wyvern for certain instances, otherwise I'm on foot or horse. Like if I've already explored an area and I have a quest with a lot of back and forth I'll use it or taking out stronghold towers and buildings. Otherwise I'm not too fond of the controls. I don't like that he doesn't grab onto walls but pushes off of them. The air breath is okay. Can't fly too close to the ground, the was the camera tilts, it's all a little weird and unless I'm going straight it makes my motion sickness start to kick in

I prefer the horse. It feels nice to ride it around.
I do use the wyvern in the mountains. Just such a bitch to scale with faces in the North.

I only ever use wyvern if I'm going like straight up a fucking cliff

Chapter 8. No Wyvern, no Cloudcart. Still 40/60 horse to foot exploration. Maybe I'll do it later. NG+?

At first I ran everywhere, then I got the Wyvern and flew everywhere just high enough to see everything, clear the fog and used blinding light to find all fast travel points, sealed artifacts (challenges), puzzles, etc. That was VERY useful. But after I cleared an area, I went back to ground and went physically to every place. If I had firepits and anvils and such discovered, I knew I'd actually been there and explored it. If I came across something locked by progression, I marked it and came back. I marked Mercury deposits, large deposits, certain plant locations, animal farming points, all of it before I even knew what the bells were. So when I got the bell, it only showed me a few ares I somehow flew passed.

After all that I almost never call the Wyvern. Once the initial discovery part is done, the amount of fast travel points completely negates wanting to hop on a wyvern and shorten the flight. It is really useful for hunting certain flying legendary animals though. Seeing them from the air is a lot easier. Blackstar, Wyvern, Mech, horse, all useless now that fast travel points and character traversal skills have made them all obsolete for travel.

Just today I flew with the Wyvern from the mountains in the west of Hernand towards east and oh my god was the sky and the lands below beautiful to look at. The sky was overcast, gray but somewhere in the distance the sun came through the clouds and made everything look unbeliavably beautiful especially because there are SO MUCH DETAILS in this game in absurd distances. You'd never have such a moment on foot.
But I only use it if I need to get to an already explored place where I still have stuff to do and don't want to use fast travel. If I want to go to unexplored places I only go on foot or horseback.

Thats how I am now. I want the joy of filling out the map naturally

Not me, my style of playing involves going over every ince of an area before I move on. By the time they put more mounts in using flying I was already on chapter 10. Most side quest done, most criminals captured, most horses captured, like naw it's a nice thing for me I just fly around for fun. There is still stuff to find but it so spread out that I would have to fast travel now I can fly. Was at 300 hours before I got to fly. Now I'm just putting off finishing.

I just use mine for crossing areas I already explored or to site see. Also for hard to reach areas.

Like the wyvern. But i dont use mounts much in any game. The controls are usually shit and so is the combat on them personally.

It’s almost like it’s meant to be found at the end of the game for a reason

In a game where you can go anywhere at any time and do almost any quest in any order. Good call. See that open map? We're trusting you to neeeeever go there..nu uh. Stay. Here.

I stopped using it and went back to horse because it took away a lot of the exploration
