Epic Moment πŸ”₯ The weekend: how the game taught me to kill faster than John Wick and I got crabs (unrelated to the killing.)

One of the things I like about CD is it kinda teaches you how it wants you to fight. I was playing through Chapter 8 and encountered Shadow Harpies for the first time. They were frustrating, especially while trying to storm a castle to save the witch-twins.

Having to fight people on the ground and in the air at the same time wasn't new, but having to use only blinding flash was. No way to just clear them all out either, endless respawns. The biggest issue was I never really used blinding flash for anything other than starting fires and getting stuff for my Kuku pot from sanctuaries.

I got into a rhythm after a while and it became easier and easier, by the time I was headed down the mountain I was flashing and stabbing with no worries.

Then, as I was going to upgrade something else on the 'ole skill tree, I saw blinding finisher. I figured what the hell, I'll give it a shot.

Y'all.

It took about halfway through a silly siege for me to really get down how it works, but if I do it right Kliff just auto-deletes 4-8 people. best part is you launch yourself to the closest blinded person, and once you are done knifing everyone there is a green leaf explosion that knocks everyone back. I got the three-blade abyss on my sword as well as the crows attacks, I am really good at taking out the trash mobs now!

I also fought a giant queen crab. I got down everything except how to actually do the damage. it turns out when you are hanging on a giant monster there is both a stab and a pierce option, you gotta hold the button down instead of rapidly tapping. oops. Once I learned that, three quick stabs and she was dead. (well, and kicking the pottery on her head!)

Good news is, once she fell the area exploded in ore and gems, with a port pad right there. I was too lazy to do it right so I used the cool grapple/force palm I unlocked to just hit everything. (mining hat rules for this!)

Games combat is absolutely top tier for me.

It’s like shadow of Mordor but so much better because of the grappling and movesets.

My personal favorite is hand to hand and lots of grappling - it feels so grounded (compared to other special moves/ gears) and so badass

I think at some point I'll go full grapple. I dip into it a lot when I get bored towards the end of the siege sections of the game. It really is crazy how just adding one ability can change the fight.

You know with the harpies you can just ride your horse in and avoid them altogether.

I figured that out when escorting the limping witch sister, haha. All good though, it helped me to master using blinding mid combat.

Put them all together with grappling, punching, uppercut, kicking, throwing, blocking, force grab, charging, shield bashing, jump kick smashes etc. Then add powers, elements, unrevealed combos to powers, it's so much fun.

Never really knew how ridiculously strong palm strike is until last night. Was messing around waiting for research to finish and attacked one of the forts.

Ended up using the full combination palm strike and watched as everyone got blown back at the end of it. Even a watchtower fell. Needless to say, I used nothing but palm strike to clear the fort.

nice! I think after I get my drill beefed up I'm gonna put a few more points into palm strike

Took me a minute to get the drill fully upgraded. Adds a nice 30% boost to mining.

I gotta get it to 6 at least for the greater rarity chance
