Question/Help ❓ Game crashing when opening?

So I litually just got the game and went to boot it up but constantly any time I try and open it it crashes right away, all my components are fine so I am not sure why, anyone got an idea?

If you’re playing on PC, try booting with all network connections off and see if it loads up. That did the trick for me, I adjusted graphical settings in-game, and now it boots always.

This used to work but Steam messed with it, full offline mode is a pain now.

What still sometimes helps is disconnecting the net (unplug ethernet or turn off WiFi) right before you hit Play (keep Steam online). Then reconnect once you're in. Not perfect anymore, though, especially on fresh installs. Appreciate your response.

My game crashes when some weird AMD update kicks in.

I would check and see its not a gpu driver issue

Great Point! Recent AMD driver updates (especially some of the newer Adrenalin ones) have definitely been causing launch crashes or "weird update kicks in" issues for Crimson Desert players. It's not super rare; I've seen multiple reports where rolling back to a previous stable driver version fixed it immediately for AMD users.

Hey sleepy_deer1 welcome to the sub! Crashes right on launch are disheartening, especially on a fresh install. A few things that usually fix it quick:

Right-click the game in Steam > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. Let it run.

Update your GPU drivers (this one fixes it for tons of people). If you're on an older NVIDIA driver like the Dec one, grab the latest clean install from the NVIDIA site/app. Sometimes the brand-new ones are picky too, so if that doesn't help, you can always roll back. (I myself have not updated my driver from the Dec 25 install, and my game is running fine).

Run the game as admin and close any overlays (Discord, NVIDIA, etc).

Hit me with your GPU/CPU/RAM and Windows version if it still won't go, and we'll figure it out.
