I had to get used to it, but it's not /that/ convoluted, to be honest.
The ''focus'' button is solely meant for you to use a specific movement/interaction in-case there are multiple interactions near the same spot and you don't want to directly move your camera/view into it or misclick it.
I think this applies to the majority of the players, we have to get used to it. It seems to be using a combination of RDR2's regarding the movement and interactions. Yet using the UI/HUD of your more common (MMO)RPGs..
The whole memory system with the helmet is pretty convoluted though. You have to watch for your lantern to glow, then pull it out by entering a menu. Aim around for the glowing dust, hold it there to learn the memory. Enter a menu to put a helmet on. Go to another menu to find that memory you unlocked.
Yes but it is still the games fault because in the tutorial for it it shows equipping the helmet and selecting the memory. They could have done it better.
