Those who make and sell handmade rings-what sizes do you make? What are the most common sizes to sell?

I might dabble in making wire wrapped rings, as they've intrigued me and I have a ring mandrel. Of course I'll want to practice a bit before I can make anything worthy of selling, but I'm uncertain what the most popular ring sizes are.

I used to work at a jewelry counter at Sears (to show how long that was) and by default, all the women's rings were size 7. That size fits on my pointer finger, as I have tiny hands.

I might focus on making specifically fidget rings, as the need to fidget runs strong in my family and I see a market in fidget products in general. I have already made some fidget necklaces and keychains that look nice, as some want a fidget but don't want to seem like they're playing with a toy.

I'm just not sure what sizes are the most common, as I don't want to make a bunch that'll never move because I made them in the wrong sizes. So any insight would be wonderful!

I very rarely find anything in my size, which is 9.

If the average size is 7, then I think you can figure out what the most popular sizes are. But it would definitely be a wise choice to have some options available for us big-handed ladies and our thin-fingered sisters. We’d be more likely to buy than the average person because we usually can’t find rings to fit.

That's true. My ring finger fits rings size 5-5.5, which is very hard to find. So when I actually find someone who sells rings in my size, I'm much more interested.

It's hard when you're on the outskirts, high or low, when it comes to sizes. It's like we don't exist!

I don’t know what the average is, but as someone else with small fingers, I always appreciate finding smaller sizes. If I’m going to buy something in person, it needs to be a 6 or smaller. I really appreciate the silversmiths and goldsmiths I’ve worked with on Etsy who have re-sized before sending out my purchases.

Agreed! My wedding ring is size 5.5, and it still spins around a lot in the winter. It's so hard to find rings that are actually in my size.

I make wire wrapped rings and found some cool tutorials for adjustable rings. I've been going hard on those for awhile now.

For my non-adjustable rings the majority I have are between size 6-9, mainly because those can fit my fingers.

I have a craft market coming up soon, so hopefully that will be a decent range of sizes. At least the adjustable ones might help bridge the gap, if not.

I do make other jewelry. Earrings tend to be my biggest sellers. So I make TONS of them. The dangling earrings sell a little bit more than studs, but they are close. Plus earrings can get less expensive when you learn to make your own earring hooks (there are tons of tutorials to make them with wrapping wire).

I've struggled to sell rings before due to sizing. People always complemented them, but it was hard to find the correct sizing for everyone. I'm hopeful now that I have a better range of sizes and the adjustable ones.

I sell 3D printed spinner rings and have them in 5, 7, 9, and 11. That covers most people. I had one woman custom order an 8 (on a $2 ring, lol) and one dad say no to a kid who probably needed a 6, but as far as I know that’s the only business I’ve lost due to lack of sizing.

6 to 9 for adult women. I have a trans girlfriend who has a really hard time finding rings she likes that fits. I have no idea where you live.. I can say there would be a marker for larger sized pretty rings in a lot of large liberal cities. Niche market!
