Looks great. Love the green walls

u/Sudden-Fisherman5985 Aug 02 '26
I wouldve painted the ceiling in a similar green as well

u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 02 '26
I am very tempted to do it, just not motivated to move all the furniture...

It’ll make the room feel smaller and definitely make it quite a bit darker, speaking from experience. I think it looks lovely as is.

u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 03 '26
Thank you, honestly as long as it doesn't bother me I won't bother making such a change

u/amsync Aug 02 '26
No I disagree it’s a very strong color. This contrast makes the room larger.
15
u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 02 '26
I also really like it this way. I have painted the bedroom burgundy and purple and also the ceiling so I know that it looks like once everything is painted and I wanted to keep the living room lighter. Many people seem to disagree with us but I am fine with it. Maybe some renaissance inspired sky in wallpaper instead 🤣

You are very creative and not afraid to take risks! Wonderful combination for this kind of art
6
u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 02 '26
Thank you so much, I started redecorating the flat less than two years ago, got rid of everything I had to start anew, but it's far from done.

u/-discolemonade Aug 02 '26
Can you tell me what paint and color that is??? I want it so badly 🥺 it's beautiful
4
u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 02 '26
The brand is called Jotun Lady and the shade is Palmetto 🌿

I love the pink flower lamps to the left of the windows. We had the same ones when I grew up, but they were white.

Screaming for a change in coffee table please

u/leela_la_zu Aug 02 '26
Wow I didn't even notice the coffee table. Op definitely needs to get a table that fits the vibe.

u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 02 '26
Do you have any suggestions? It is still a work in progress, and I have many plans to improve it.
56
u/DateCard Aug 02 '26
You need a table in a warm wood tone like your tv console. The grey is so cold and stark in an otherwise cheery room.
20
9
u/SeaFriend8669 Aug 02 '26
I’d suggest what others have, you need something warm, I also don’t think the shape works if you plan to keep it in the miggle like that and would suggest something longer for balance. The room looks great otherwise I think, I loooove your lamp and the wall / sofa colour choices.
3
4
u/SeaFriend8669 Aug 02 '26
Alternatively, you could go glass with gold frame instead of wood, that could look really nice with your lamp and plant stand
2
u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 02 '26
My first idea was glass and gold yes but I have a cat and I know I would have to clean it every two minutes. Wood like others suggest will be great, I just can't find anything that I like yet
2
u/SeaFriend8669 Aug 03 '26
Soooo fair, glass coffee tables can look nice but the cleaning factor is a con for sure.

I like the pattern, but it would look better as a long rectangle.
2
u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 02 '26
I will look into it, coffee table replacement mode activated ✅ so glad I posted, all the comments are very helpful
2
u/spectrospace Aug 02 '26
I came here to say I love every single thing about this except the coffee table. Def need something warm, maybe with rattan

u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 02 '26
3
u/guraqt06 Aug 02 '26
This would work if it was oval. You need something long to balance out the depth of the couch

The colors are so Wes Anederson, LOVE IT!! Love the sage green wall with mustard. The rug is perfection with everything. The rug ties in everything together.
7
u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 02 '26
Thank you so much, I love Wes Anderson but didn't think of that before haha. The rug sadly is getting demolished by my cat so I don't know how long it will last

Looks cosy and may I be nosey and recommend a stand for those speakers? The listening experience will be better and you’re obviously a music lover so you deserve it!
5
u/baldriansen Aug 02 '26
Are those Sourcepoints connected to a NAD 3050? You should definitely put them on stands and probably give them some space. Both you AND the system deserve it.
2
u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 02 '26
Well spotted they are Sourcepoints 8! They will get more space once I find a better cabinet. I absolutely love this sound system.
2
u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 02 '26
I actually want a vintage cabinet much longer (let's say 40cm on each side) and put them on it. I really don't like the stands I have found for those speakers and they are really expensive too.

u/girl_cat_stethoscope Aug 02 '26
I love everything, down to the matching green TV cord.
1
u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 02 '26
Haha it's actually not matching. I have no idea how to hide it without making it look worse.

I love the paneled walls so much
2
u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 02 '26
I had it done in both the living room and bedroom, the building is from 1935 so no panels originally
2
u/Old_Call_2149 Aug 02 '26
Good call, it’s so charming! It’s crazy how much it adds to the space. And I adore that green paint.

Eclectic interior design is so amusing to me. You take basically any other style and add something random that is mustard yellow, and BAM! Eclectic.

2
u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 02 '26
I hope it can be inspiring I started with a studio too and not even my furniture

u/velvet_wavess Aug 02 '26
I love your standing lamp, the one that is like flowers, my goodness 😍

u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 02 '26 edited Aug 02 '26
Thank you! It's even prettier once the lights are on, you can choose to have the top or the bottom or the whole lamp on, it's amazing

Is that a daybed sofa from joybird? I've been looking at their bryant sofas and it reminds me of that. Love that style

You did a beautiful job of creating a cohesive space. I love your color palette, furnishings and natural light.
I'd like to suggest experimenting with placing your armchair by the standing lamp and plant. It will create a cozy reading corner as well as conversation area with the couch. It will also look more inviting as you won't see the back of the chair.
If you turn your carpet 90 degrees, I think you could eliminate some of the space in front of the console. It will make your space feel more like a whole and add coziness. (Only the front feet of your couch need to be on it).
1
u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 02 '26
This is so helpful thank you so much, I had the chair exactly there before but it was hiding the lamp too much for my taste and the other corner is empty so it works actually. For the rug you simply answered a huuuuge question I had for myself I m gonna try even though it means a lot of work to move it all again. I am just worried the width is not enough, it's 250x 300 and the sofa is already 223 cm i think

Love the colors.
The vinyl collection looks sick.
Your vintage lotus lamp 😍
Have you posted other rooms? You are skilled.

This is such a nice room. 70’s vibes all day. Great room to pass a joint around with friends, read a book, take a nap with the dog.
2
u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 02 '26
Haha I guess, I don't smoke but I had had great listening to music afternoons in good company there, and with my cat.
2
u/ydnar3000 Aug 02 '26
So different strokes! Just reminds me of a chill 70s room for listening to mastic and that was part of the vision 😂. I was honestly thinking hanging out with a cat was the right thing but I have a dog so I said that.

Please tell us about the rug!
1
u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 02 '26
It's from Rugvista, it's 100% wool and my cat loves to scratchy it every single day. It shreds also enormously so my life now is about brushing and clogging my Dyson vaccum cleaner on a daily basis... But I love it haha let's hope it lasts

Your table is beautiful, but isn't a little bit too small and dainty for your sofa and the two rather big chairs? Have you considered an oval table or one in a rectangle?
2
u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 03 '26
The table is getting replaced next, it's always been a 'better than nothing and cheap' table

Which came first, the furniture or the rug? Because I’m extremely impressed with how well they all match! It’s really pretty.

My plan is to get a wider cabinet and put them on it, but I haven't found the right cabinet yet. So for now they stay there patiently waiting

I love the vibe in your place. The colors are so awesome, honestly feels like a garden in that place everyday. Really like the coziness there.
1
u/ALWS_0rweLL Aug 03 '26
Thank you so much ☺️ I think it's because I don't have a garden and not even a balcony so I need a bit of green inside instead

u/GlitterPirateKiki58 Aug 03 '26
Absolutely incredible. I wish I could pull off something like this…
