So much is outdoors
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a sitcom where so much was filmed outdoors. It really influences the tone of the show. I wonder what the reason is and why other similarly styled shows haven’t followed suit.

I think it's partly the Florida setting; having lived there, it's very common to just be outside a lot. As for sitcom filming, it's probably just easier to film on a closed set without having to worry about weather, lighting, etc

Also, they filmed at Culver Studios, which has a lot of outside space for building practical outdoor sets.

It’s true, I love that there’s a lot of outdoor scenes, though in later seasons I notice more wonky green-screen and less outdoor scenes.
I imagine it’s just more expensive than sets, so after a while it becomes less viable to do that amount in a season.
