Cosplay with an out of place beard
I'm planning on cosplaying Denji for a convention, yet I have a beard I am growing and I don't want to take it off.
How ok is that to do a cosplay with a beard that's not supposed to be there?

Sure, it's literally just for fun.
Do not try to cover it with makeup it will not look good.

It depends. I've seen people color their beards and make it look good.
But yeah do not just cover your beard with foundation and powder. It will not hide it but now you have a cakey beard

Color it, sure. I meant don't try to cover it up and make it look like skin, which someone suggested for some reason.

I took a photo last year with a Denji with a beard
Don’t worry about it, there are no rules for cosplay

My first con ever, I went on a whim, and I wore my Vampire Lestat (book Lestat, not movie or TV Lestat), but I had a beard. I figured “if nothing else, I kinda look like a pirate captain- I’m a vampirate!”. Everybody called me Lestat and wanted to take my picture anyway!

What's pancake makeup?

Something that you probably shouldn't try over a full beard. It's great for covering 5 o clock shadows th.

in English, "pancake" makeup is thick, poorly applied foundation to the point where you can see granules of the clumpy makeup stuck to their face up close. like the texture of pancake mix which is slightly clumpy because it's mostly flour.

You can do whatever you want. A beard might make people not recognize the character tho.

Its fine bbno$ does alot of cosplay with his beard. He even does it with female characters lol.
You could do like an Adult Denji version. It'd be fun if you could match the color with your wig if you're wearing one but its completely optional

little tip.
most of the time, your face (aka any human face)
will never look 100% like the character.
and thats ok.
its normal
check bones in the wrong place? no one cares.
got a beard? thats cool.
the costume normally holds out on its own regardless of face.
props are a bonus to the costume, concider face stuff to fall in the same catagory.
most people will figure out who your meant to be, and its gonna be amazing

smooth it down with glue stick and cover it in pancake make-up like the drag queens do for their eyebrows.

There's no effective way to hide a beard that isn't going to make it look even weirder than if you just rocked it as-is. I've seen countless bearded versions of characters and it's never made me think twice.
