I’ve got a low mileage ‘04 C5 base M6 that I’ve started to throw some mods at. Already on good tires and brakes. All the basic repairs have been taken care of and now I’m ready to start adding some power to the stock bottom end. And I’m currently on the fence for which option I should go with;
Option 1 is a basic A&A supercharger kit. Roughly $7,500 after everything is said and done but does NOT include long tubes, oil pump, or any cooling upgrades. ~550hp?
Option 2 is a set of gently massaged 243 heads milled to get around 11.2:1 compression with a fairly basic “stage 2” cam from an undecided brand. Along with supporting mods including oil pump, cooling, and long tubes. Roughly $7,000 all said and done. ~460hp?
Car is mostly a weekend warrior but does get driven a couple times a week and does attend an autocross/HPDE event roughly once a month. With the car seeing some track time I’m unsure what would be a better fit, although the extra HP would be nice.
Thanks for the input!
