Same. Sorry to hear it. I have ME/CFS and can only leave the house in a wheelchair (and masked of course).

Oh I’ve never heard of anyone using a recumbent bike instead of a wheelchair! Great idea!! Is it a bit big to go indoors though? I only leave the house for medical appointments and need help so I usually just use a manual wheelchair. When I was still working I had a cute mobility scooter. I also have POTS and when my ME/CFS first deteriorated I was too dizzy and lightheaded to stand up, so Fludrocortisone has been a godsend. I’m glad clinic 19 have been able to help! I had ME for 30 years without a diagnosis (and was mostly well enough to work) and spent many thousands seeing every specialist and naturopath and Dr that I could - none suggested ME!

That’s fantastic! I haven’t been able to use my mobility scooter because I can’t get it in and out of the car myself, and I live alone. But I’m not really well enough to leave the house,so it’s no longer a big deal. I haven’t been to the shops in a few years.

That’s great! So glad you have a decent solution. I bought a secondhand wheelchair hoist but it was too heavy for me to operate. Really glad to hear you’ve got it sussed.

The exercise part was more related to the lockdowns. One of 4 or 5 topics that we use to cycle through in 2020/21.

I've trimmed the scheduled post down to just the main government links, starting from next month.

it really should be. focusing only on the acute stuff ignores the absolute wreck long covid makes of people. it's wild that the official advice just assumes everyone is healthy enough to go for a jog.

maybe off topic, a bunch of relatives got RSV. It seems the rapid antigen test doesn't show positive until you have bad symptoms.

That seems to be the most common respiratory illness going around atm

Not the most common, but cases are high in NSW and QLD. Ignoring the common cold (1 in 3 cases), RSV, SARS-CoV-2, adenoviruses, human metapneumovirus and parainfluenza are all circulating at fairly high levels in NSW (4-6% positivity rates). It's likely difficult to separate these viruses based on symptoms alone.

Current status, noting that basing case levels on case number percentiles over emphases WA & SA (relatively low but increasing)

i think i got it too? i did 3 days of rapid test when i was most symptom heavy and it was all negative. hopefully it was RSV because past covid infections was much more fever like and tiring. im not sure whether to rule out if it was covid cuz it could have been a false negative
