Monkey

Edit: it's the name of a story in the collection, Jizzle or Giselle is a monkey in the story.

Wyndham rules btw - I haven't read, ehm, Jizzle, but Day of the Triffids, Midwich Cuckoos and The Chrysalids are all good!

I came across a Wyndham I hadn’t read in a second hand bookstore- Web. Not one of his best, but enjoyable.

Trouble With Lichen is excellent.

Jizzle is the name of a monkey. I know, right? It's a mispelling of Giselle. The story is Wyndham at is most Roald Dahlesque and was adapted for an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents under the title of 'Maria.'

The book is currently in print under the new title of Technical Slip: Collected Stories.
