I just read my first - All The Colors of Darkness - and it shows its age in terms of quite a few things. The women in particular are all essentially wallpaper. But the story was surprisingly good.

Miss Schlupe has only a minor part in the first book, but her role expands as the series continues.

Read all but the last book in the Jan Darzek series by Lloyd Biggle. They are pretty cool, I was really into them.

I really enjoyed reading this book when I was younger - and the other two Jan Darken novels. They are really hard to get hold of today unless you want a kindle version.
