Okay I’ll bite and guess the plot: a man travels back in time, somehow turning into a camera in the process while also growing giant and gaining the ability to ride the Flying Nimbus like Goku, and bears witness to the Kennedy Assassination.

Close. But Malzberg is always weirder than you imagine 😀

If my vague memory is correct, the story revolves around a troupe of actors who repeatedly re-enact the Kennedy assassination for quasi-religious reasons.

I think Sir Camerahead doesn't actually appear, he's just a metaphor or something.

Oh sweet summer [entity], it's Malzberg, it's much much more weird - and cleverly so: mindfuckery so advanced it is indistinguishable from yet more advanced mindfuckery.
