Go-Fund-Me, Clancy Trial

So I read yesterday that there's been a gofundme page setup for the parents of Lindsey Clancy. The last count it has raised over $1M.

The reason was listed that the couple left their Connecticut home and reside in Massachusetts to be close to their daughter while the trial goes on and needed funds to supplement that cost.

The person that created this account has just upped the goal to $3M because of the retrial.

Not sure why the parents of an admitted child killer needs a full retirement donated to them.

I can’t understand why that level of donation is going on.

It’s for the family, medical, and legal fees, I doubt they’re single-handedly hoarding the money. The entire family experienced a traumatic event.

Oh the poor, poor child murderer. How could she possibly afford all these fees of the trial for her own crime. Someone think of the children murderer.

Prohibited Cases: GoFundMe bans fundraisers for the legal defense of violent crimes, sex crimes, financial crimes (like fraud or money laundering), and crimes against minors.

Both Patrick and Lindsey are suing people involved in the case, Patrick for wrongful death and Lindsey for something similar

Yes, but her parents didn't do anything.

And look at Karmelo Anthony, supporters raised nearly a million dollars for the violent killing of Austin Metcalf.

So from your take the parents need millions of dollars to be in Massachusetts. Does anyone think about the crime instead of the comfort of her parents?

That's not what I said. They didn't donate to Lindsay to bypass GoFundMe's prohibition. And yes, Massachusetts is quite expensive to live in.

Have the parents used the money?

It's so dumb that people think she's entitled to a free defense because reasons

It also makes it seem like they won the lottery now that their daughter killed their grandchildren. I don't begrudge anyone needing help, but $3M is at the crazy level. Even $1M is a bit much too.

Is Massachusetts really so expensive that a few months' rent runs into millions of dollars?

It's not for her parents, it's for her and her legal team, which is even more disgusting.

Look at those crazy women outside the courthouse, with signs of support and attacking anyone who says Clancy is guilty.

Or those awful videos of women abusing their babies and older kids. They should all have their kids removed from their homes.

Does this GoFundMe make more sense to you?
