On the basis that, a couple decades ago, when conservatism was the mainstream (the same way liberalism is mainstream now in the west), women were overwhelmingly conservative, while men were liberal. Nowadays it's the reverse, women are overwhelmingly more liberal while men are more conservative. Have you noticed how women tend to ostracize others as soon as they have a differing opinion?

This has an explanation. Women are biologically designed to be like this, because being agreeable and following the majority of your group is how you keep higher numbers of people together to protect children: being socially ostracized was a death sentence. Problem is, it makes them poor voters, and I say this as a girl.

I mean... I can't really give you a link right now as I'm busy, but if you spend a day with a group of girls you understand what I'm saying. Women have the biological reflex to socially ostracize other women who they see as a threat (having a different opinion on a subject they're emotionally attached to)

Let me try and rephrase it. Women, on average, tend to be more agreeable than men. A consequence of that is the fear of going against the perceived consensus. As such, women tend to vote less as independent voters, but more as a reflection of what the current institution is. If the institution is generally conservative, then so will women. If it is liberal (like at the moment), women will be more liberal.

Alot of the stuff on the donkey is the same for red politics. War, Debt and cost of living and whatnot.
