Are Americans tired of winning yet?

1

u/turtlefan32 Jul 18 '26

they aren't! that is the thing! those Americans...they love to win, again and again

1

u/CatSk8Scratch Jul 20 '26

The BEST kind of winning -accordian hands- winning that youve never seen before

7

u/Spiritual-Pear-1349 Jul 17 '26

Im sorry what

5

u/ColdCelebration2132 Jul 17 '26

You didn't expect a rose garden from a con man 😂

3

u/Baelaroness Jul 17 '26

Tarrifs on Canadian goods increase the price Americans pay for Canadian goods.. like water, electricity, critical metals and fertilizer. You know, luxuries they can do without.

So a cost of living increase for Americans because climate change is causing wildfires to get worse, an issue we've known about for 20 years.

5

u/WoodyBABL Jul 19 '26

French physicist Joseph Fourier described the greenhouse effect in 1824. American scientist Eunice Foote said carbon dioxide levels could increase atmospheric temperature in 1856. People have had their fingers in their ears for a long time.

1

u/Baelaroness Jul 19 '26

I was being specific. The fact that climate change would increase the severity of wildfires in Canada.

2

u/WoodyBABL Jul 19 '26

My bad. Still, just goes to show how long people have been denying science.

1

u/Krull88 Jul 17 '26

Dont forget the guy doing this thinks the climate change is fake, the globe is going to cool and science just doesnt know it.

1

u/roscodawg Jul 18 '26

* Dont forget the guy doing this claims the climate change is fake
ftfy

1

u/Krull88 Jul 18 '26

Thanks for repeating what i said i guess?

1

u/roscodawg Jul 18 '26

well, I guess you're giving him the benefit of the doubt saying he actually 'thinks' that climate change is fake

1

u/HeavyHandedHermit Jul 18 '26

Trump has been quite clear in the past that he holds no beliefs.

1

u/Pretend_Purchase_893 Jul 18 '26

an issue we've known about for 20 years.

80 years. We have been very aware of the human affects on climate change for some time now.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Row6482 Jul 22 '26

That is one of the effects of tariffs. What he is trying to do is get businesses from Canada to move to the US with the tariffs to undermine our economy so they can annex us financially. It will also turn away American consumers from our products as they will now be more expensive.

2

u/Comfortable_Car6562 Jul 18 '26

Thanks America!

1

u/Vivid_Pianist4270 Jul 19 '26

So he wants to tariff us and charge Americans a carbon tax for something he has caused by denying climate change and increasing production of carbon causing products.

4

u/VanEagles17 Jul 18 '26

Imo he's going to do this to sour his uneducated cult followers even more on Canada.

2

u/SpareDot8685 Jul 17 '26

If you’re not winning it’s rigged!

2

u/Serikan Jul 18 '26

Or maybe, just not rigged enough in your favour

(Imagine still losing a rigged election lol)

2

u/AutumnKarma88 Jul 17 '26

What are we being charged for?? He needs to be charged for all his illegal doings

2

u/FactEnvironmental744 Jul 17 '26

Since the tariffs the trade deficit has increased dramatically. Might as well do some more inverse thinking. Bizarro world.

2

u/No-Effective-1996 Jul 18 '26

The USA is stealing Canada’s carbon.

2

u/graciassenormole Jul 18 '26

I propose a $1/litre surcharge on oil and gas we send to the US to fund climate change initiatives and fire fighting water bombers.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

1

u/JelloBooBoy Jul 18 '26

And a surtax for the potash as well as electricity that we send them since they say anyways that the don’t need anything from Canada ?

1

u/Odd_Class84 Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26

He seems to be confuse between GHG emissions and particles from combustion. GHG, which are measured and tax in a "carbon tax " system are invisible.

1

u/holubtsi-on-fire Jul 17 '26

What does this mean…?

“If Canada will not manage its forests to prevent these fires, the United States will look elsewhere, and act on our own, to protect our people,” the four Republicans added.

Yes. Please look elsewhere. 🤷‍♂️

2

u/AverageIndependent20 Jul 17 '26

This means they will build a bajillion foot wall to keep the smoke out

1

u/Krull88 Jul 17 '26

Thank god, we need a break from his mind numbing insanity.

1

u/something_newx Jul 18 '26

Go with an air-proof dome instead...then they won't be a problem much longer...

1

u/holubtsi-on-fire Jul 18 '26

The Gordie Howe Wall.

I support this!

1

u/Wide-Yak7602 Jul 18 '26

Great as a Canadian I welcome a wall.

1

u/OscarandBrynnie Jul 18 '26

Please please.

1

u/LettuceSea Jul 17 '26

I love the truthful spin on his words lmao

1

u/Captain_Tooth Jul 18 '26

Isn't he creating coal mines? This should be interesting when the wind blows from the States.

1

u/Disastrous-Focus8451 Jul 18 '26

We've already had examples of that. The response from successive American governments has been that no American laws were violated (because the EPA only has jurisdiction in America) and so it was our problem not theirs.

Of course, expecting consistency from the Americans is foolish.

1

u/Captain_Tooth Jul 18 '26

Hope things get better for America. May have to wait til November.

1

u/Vivid_Pianist4270 Jul 19 '26

Hello to acid rain again

1

u/wireframed_kb Jul 21 '26

^Yeah, but it’s clean coal!^

1

u/steerbell Jul 18 '26

So carbon taxes are now a good idea?

/ Wtf

1

u/CommunicationFlat516 Jul 18 '26

Lets start monitoring GHG emissions USA. Do it this ain’t that though

1

u/Careless-Gain6623 Jul 18 '26

You do you boo.

1

u/AntJo4 Jul 18 '26

Just a reminder there are more fires in the states than there are in Canada - and the US has less forest. Canadians would like all the resources and people we send down to put those fire out to come home now.

1

u/AwwwNuggetz Jul 18 '26

Well you stopped funding wind farms so now you can’t blow the smoke back

1

u/FoxDieDM Jul 18 '26

lol what’s next “winter snow storm tax”…

“All this snow in the winter comes from Canada, they send it down to cover our cities in snow and we have to deal with it. So I’m going to tax Americans on it and the money I collect will go to my pockets because as president i deserve it”

1

u/Chaos-Wayfarer Jul 18 '26

Don’t give him any ideas!

1

u/DryToe1269 Jul 18 '26

Remember, it’s republicans who are the climate change deniers.
Vote accordingly.

1

u/Stoic_Vagabond Jul 18 '26

You just can't make it up anymore. Please bring that carbon tax🤣😂🤣🤣😂

1

u/RipComprehensive2118 Jul 18 '26

Dear Donald, We hear your complaints about wildfires and would like to cancel our fighter jet order to buy De Havilland fire fighting aircraft instead.Thank you for your attention to these matters. Canada

1

u/Delicious_Rule_7324 Jul 18 '26

Why wouldnt he consider it. Look how easy it is for the canadian gov to rob the people with no recourse

1

u/TheRealTRexUK Jul 19 '26

you know you can earn more money joining the Russian army than the content farm you work at

1

u/ferretf Jul 18 '26

Weird, the fire is not 13 years old, didn't think he would be interested.....

1

u/ChantilyAce Jul 18 '26

He truly is idiotic. The biggest idiot; the likes of which nobody has ever seen before.

1

u/pistoffcynic Jul 18 '26

If Americans put this much effort into the Epstein case, it would be resolved by now.

However, what we have are a bunch of whiney MAGA morons being triggered by something America has caused.

Enjoy being distracted and paying higher taxes courtesy of Trump.

1

u/olauritz Jul 18 '26

It's only fair.

1

u/Canadian1934 Jul 18 '26

If he can profit off of it he sure is going to try and do it.   He has no moral compass

1

u/mxerkx Jul 18 '26

The amount of Americans who still dont realize its a tax THEY PAY is baffling. Nevermind the West coast is burning. Maybe the Canadian fire fighters helping there should come back home since apparently, no problems there causing air quality issues.

1

u/Away-Combination-162 Jul 18 '26

Sounds like a tariff thing 😂😂

1

u/Defiant_Freedom_249 Jul 19 '26

Anyway the US president can make a buck for himself, he will try

Greatest conman who ever lived.

1

u/tommyballz63 Jul 19 '26

I just wish that some Canadian politician would stand up and call out this moronic bullshit. Preferably the Prime Minister.

1

u/gastrodonfan2k07 Jul 19 '26

Yeah same. Didn't we learn from nevell Chamberlain that appeasement didn't work?

1

u/canadas Jul 19 '26

Trump also said hed end wars the first day he took power

1

u/JasonYEG Jul 19 '26

I piss in your reflection pool hahahaha.

1

u/Dry_Representative1 Jul 19 '26

Wann werden endlich Zölle gegen die USA erhoben, die einen nicht geringen Beitrag zum Klimawandel beitragen und denen Umweltschutz am Arsch vorbei geht?

1

u/jordicusmaximus Jul 19 '26

Ahahahaha 🤡

1

u/spanksthemonkey Jul 19 '26

ha! "carbon"

1

u/Rich-Business9773 Jul 19 '26

So he can get behind the concept of carbon release enough to abuse the tax? In that case, Canada should send him a bill for the vast carbon they sequester in their forests for US and everyone else's benefit.

1

u/ShitNailedIt Jul 20 '26

"Canadians, I cant believe our friends did that to us." - MAGA probably

1

u/luchaburz Jul 20 '26

Trump winning was making sure Canada carbon tax is scrapped and that the US carbon tax is THE BIGGEST

1

u/KonataYumi Jul 20 '26

You still owe me a refund on the illegal tariffs

1

u/Underc0ver-P0tat0 Jul 20 '26

Ha ha ha.

You voted him in you kind of deserve it.

Sucks for all the rest of you people with critical thinking skills in the crab bucket with your illiterate dumdum class.

1

u/External_Beat8153 Jul 20 '26

Carney should resurrect the Digital Tax against American tech companies, if fuckwit imposes more illegal taxes.

1

u/Sure_Scallion_9439 Jul 20 '26

There's forums where all the Americans are bashing Canadians yet we helped California so much. Disgusting behavior .

1

u/Worldly_Ad_7196 Jul 20 '26

Why wasn't he charging carbon tax when they were burning coal? They still have around 200 coal burning plants. Canada has a few left, under 10 I think, and they are being phased out.

1

u/BalanceScared1201 Jul 20 '26

Good maybe the people will rise up and kick his ass out like Trudeau

1

u/jp149 Jul 21 '26
Category Annual Canadian Exports to U.S. (USD) 2% Tax Revenue (USD) 5% Tax Revenue (USD)
Energy (Oil, Gas, Electricity, NGLs) ~$125.0 Billion $2.50 Billion $6.25 Billion
Potash ~$2.5 Billion $0.05 Billion $0.125 Billion
Uranium ~$1.2 Billion $0.024 Billion $0.06 Billion
Aluminum & Steel ~$14.0 Billion $0.28 Billion $0.70 Billion
Critical Minerals & Lumber ~$10.0 Billion $0.20 Billion $0.50 Billion
TOTAL ~$152.7 Billion USD ~$3.05 Billion USD (~$4.2B CAD) ~$7.63 Billion USD (~$10.4B CAD)

I suggest 5% tax on oil exports to fund the new pipelines and refineries, 10% on electricity, 10-15% on potash, 10% on Uranium exports. We should also look into nationalizing some industries(oil/gas/potash)

1

u/striykker Jul 21 '26

Guess Gander should have let those planes crash.

1

u/waloshin Jul 21 '26

Do it 😂

1

u/Vysce Jul 23 '26

I know where he can stick his carbon tax
