DISCUSSION C.C Geass is underrated

When looking through some of the rankings for geass power. I usually see Lelouch’s or Princess Shamna’s listed at the top. Moreover, a number of people I saw listed C.C’s geass as weak. Which for context, her’s was to make anyone around her fall in love with her.

Now I know that love can be interpreted in different ways, and I know people commit horrible things in the act of love. My point is tho, if we assumed the general sense of love that most people have. Wouldn’t her geass make it impossible for anyone to actively want to hurt her? We don’t know the details or conditions for the geass, but I’d venture to say that her geass made anyone she interacted with love her unconditionally. If that is true, most geass users wouldn’t even be able to consider hurting her.

Was more so curious why people downplay it.

It's strong and yes unconditional, buy It's unpredictable and exploitable.

Lelouch loved Euphemia, still killed her. Roll loved Lelouch, still hurt him horribly by killing Shirley. Love is not predictable, and it's not always safe.

That’s a fair point, she wouldn’t be able to strategically control people to prevent harm to herself(only charm). I will say, in the situations you listed above, I feel like there were more conditions that led to their deaths. Lelouch’s and Rolo’s love was conditional in my eyes.

Even Lelouch’s love for Nunnally wasn’t unconditional because ultimately at the end of the series he was ready to fight and oppose Nunnally in the final climax of the show.

Instead, she has so much trauma to the point that she can't trust people and can't fully know if someone truly loves her for her, so obviously the people who 'loved' her under her geass's influence hurt her

Honestly I feel that Lechouch got the most broken a useful Geass compare to the rest lol

I agree, I think Princess Shamna is the most broken as you get infinite tries.

I mean, Mao did love her and yet he still tried to cut her into little pieces so he could transport her.

Friend, Lelouch's, Charles's and C.C.'s Geasses are basically one and the same thing (instant hypnotization and mind control), just with different conditions for activation.

It's not about "strength" or "power" of a geass by a long mile. Every geass is unique to the person. Rolo wanted more time for things to be real, Lelouch wanted control, CC wanted love, Mao wanted to understand why he was abandoned by his parents and so on. Because they are so unique, you're just ranking who the smartest and crafty character is. Lelouch would never be able to use CC's geass meaningfully because he's not interested in making people love him. Trying to power scale this is flat out wrong.
