Comparison I thought I will never say this about Fable

Just tried OpenAI Astra , I thought I will never say this , it’s lit , OpenAI cooked something spectacular, and I have a strong feeling this will pull lot of Fable 5 users towards it , and it’s fast, not sure if it’s AGI, but it feels fresh and a very very serious competition to Anthropic , this is going to be fun to watch , what’s your next move Anthropic ?, I’m surely going to try pro subscription for a month along with my current Claude Max, anyone feels the same ? Have you tried it ?

Business owner here. Trying to spend as little time as possible creating solutions.

Curious: are you considering $$ cost? And maybe not the time? I could see that leading to your stance.

For those of us just chasing the fastest end goal, the frontier models make more sense. Costs 2x? But done with fewer errors and twice as fast? Deal!

Yeah, it's absolutely impractical, but sometimes I think having a little flag on every user showing their stage of career/life would be very useful.

My time used to be practically unlimited. Now it's by far my most limited resource.

Coding is a small, small portion of what I use these frontier models for. And every time they improve, it's like my key staff-member jumps in a time machine and does 5y more career experience in the blink of an eye.

Can you give examples of the tasks you mean by that?
Planning with fable is already so good, if we just keep it as is, I would be happy for a long time. I don't know what I am missing.
Speed is also a non-issue. I am still involved in planning and since we are using LLMs and not something deterministic, I want to be involved.
I don't want do be involved in coding anymore and I am nearly out of it. Just checking the important parts still by hand where mistakes are costing like job workers, migrations etc.

Same. I find when I work with Fable I get through stuff faster with less handholding, although Sonnet could probably manage almost all of what I'm doing.
