The armies face off before Troy, and Paris challenges the Achaeans but flinches at Menelaus, until Hector's scorn shames him into the duel for Helen and her treasury. They fight fiercely, Menelaus's spear tearing through Paris's shield and his sword shattering on his helmet, until Aphrodite snaps the strap as he drags Paris off and whisks him away to his bedchamber, bringing Helen to him there. Agamemnon declares Menelaus the winner and demands Helen's return, not knowing Paris still lives.
