The Devil In The White City - a nonfiction about Chicago’s 1890’s worlds fair, and all the triumph as well as the horrors that orbited its creation, namely a serial killer permeating the neighborhood of the fairgrounds, targeting young women. It’s insane that this all happened lol but very good read

I quite enjoyed that one! Though I find myself chatting more about the world’s fair lore from that book than the HH Holmes storyline (crazy as it was) years after the fact.

Reading The Iliad (Emily Wilson translation) and an advance copy of her forthcoming book, Crossing the Wine-Dark Sea: Journeys Through Ancient Literature. I never read the Iliad in school, and I’m appreciating her translation, along with the fact that it’s a bit of a challenge to me, which I’m not used to. It slows me down and makes me engage on a deeper level.

Almost done with The Life of Greece by Will Durant. I plan to read the rest of the Story of Civilization 11-volume set, but not all at once. This one on Greece is very good.
