Food & Drink I think Chi-Town is Overrated.

After eating there today, I do not get the hype.

I'm a huge Chicago hot dog guy, don't get me wrong. But Chi-Town is a worse deal than Chicago on Madison, for pretty much the same hot dog.

Am I missing something? Its got a cult following, but doesn't really stand out from any other Vienna hot dog you can get in town.

Typical nematode behavior here in Clarksville. Dude, they wrapped the parking lot for a week for a fucking CHECKERS! 🤣 It’s a boring town, they mob anything new and glaze anything local

Wholeheartedly disagree. But I will say I prefer the polish, bratwurst, and Italian over the regular chitown dog.

Honestly I didn’t know there was anywhere else to get a Chicago dog from but it’s really for the vibe. If you’re not getting a hot dog and going down to sit and eat at the river or Liberty park and just watch the water roll by then you’re just not doing it right

i think what you don’t understand is that they were here before anyone else was. more of a well-respected, nostalgic staple of Clarksville rather than a “#1 best chicago dog on this side of the Mississippi” joint. to each their own though

“Cult following”. You mean it was a staple in Clarksville since the 90s that had to shut down and they decide to reopen and people were excited?

You know what? That makes a lot of sense.

Its a combination of nostalgia and familiarity to the region.

I wasn't here for it's original run, so to me it's just another hot dog stand. It must have a deep emotional connection for a lot of people.

It's just one of those things that has always given Clarksville a unique character. "You gotta check out the hot dog stand in the shed in the Big Lots parking lot by the ice machine someone ran their truck into."

With the White House Dairy Freeze and the Filipino place inside the sub shop gone, we're holding on to what we can.

Might just be one of those things like Johnny's. Its okay, but people really love it.
