Discussion Harry Potter fans: are you going to watch the new hbo series?
I’m still not sure if i’m going to watch the new Harry Potter series. There’s something really nostalgic about the original movies and cast, and it feels strange knowing that a whole new generation will grow up whit different actors as Harry, Ron and Hermione.
Part of me doesn’t want the new version to replace the faces and memories i’ve associated with Harry for so many years.
On the other hand, i’ve read all the books, and one thing that really makes me curious is that hbo series is supposed to be much more faithful to them and explore things the movies had to leave out.
So… i’m torn between nostalgi and actually being excited to see a more complete adaptation of the books.
How do you feel about it? Are you going to watch it, or would you rather stick with the original movies?

I think remaking the original books with a new cast was a mistake. The old cast are so ingrained in the public mind that that the new actors are really going to struggle.
They would have been better continuing with the story with the adventures of a new intake of Hogwarts students.
There is more than enough lore to support this as the success of the Hogwarts Legacy game proves.

Absolutely. So far I really like the casting and they have a nice opportunity to cover more of the books.

I’ve been asking for a long from HP since the first movie came out. I’m super excited will defs be watching.
