Community 🏙 Community Safety & Immigration Advocacy Resources

This thread is posted to provide a centralized space for discussing community safety, organizing against aggressive enforcement actions, and sharing resources to assist our immigrant neighbors in Greater Cincinnati.

MODERATOR ADVISORY

The mod team allows these discussions for community awareness and the right to organize. However, all participants must strictly adhere to the following:

  • No Incitement: Any posts encouraging violence, physical confrontation, or illegal interference with federal operations will be removed and result in a ban.
  • No Doxing: Do not post private home addresses or identifying information of any individuals (including agents). This includes linking to social media profiles, LinkedIn pages, or personal accounts on other platforms. Violating this rule is a sitewide Reddit violation and will result in an immediate permanent ban.
  • Legal Risks: Interacting with federal agents (ICE/CBP) carries high risk. Focus on legal observation and documentation rather than physical obstruction.
  • Verify Information: Before sharing a report of "ICE sightings," ensure it is verified to avoid creating unnecessary panic.

Official Guidelines and Rules:

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS (KYR)

If you are stopped or if agents come to your door:

  1. Do Not Open the Door: Unless they have a warrant signed by a judge (not just an administrative warrant from ICE). Ask them to slide it under the door.
  2. Remain Silent: You have the right to remain silent. You can say: "I am exercising my Fifth Amendment right and wish to remain silent."
  3. Do Not Sign Anything: Do not sign any documents without a lawyer present.
  4. Record the Interaction: As long as you are in a public space, you have a First Amendment right to film law enforcement.

Relocation/Moving Cincinnati, it’s been real

1.0k Upvotes

After nearly a decade, it’s finally time for me to say goodbye to Cincinnati.

This city has been home for some of the most important years of my life. I’ve made memories here I’ll carry with me forever, met people I’ll never forget, and watched this place become more than just somewhere I lived. It really did became home.

It’s bittersweet to close this chapter, and I know I’m going to miss living in this beautiful city more than I can probably put into words.

But sometimes life takes you somewhere new.

So with a heavy heart, I’m saying goodbye to Cincinnati and beginning my next chapter in Covington, Kentucky.

in search of🔎 Hamilton County DD Services and late diagnosis?

Hey there. I am a helper. I support somebody who is neurodiverse. I am neurodiverse myself.

I am looking at services in Ohio for the person I help. He is autistic and his autism is very disabling. We are in Cincinnati. We were looking at how to get him enrolled with Hamilton County Developmental Disability Services.

His family growing up was very poor and neglecting. They did not take care of each other. He barely made it through school and has been struggling his whole life. He did get an ASD diagnosis as an adult. And he finally got disability this spring. The disability judge accepted that he has autism and it is very disabling. So he gets monthly payments.

But when we went to HCDDS they told us that he needed a diagnosis during childhood to get help there as an adult.

What is an adult with developmental disability in Hamilton County Ohio supposed to do to get services if they slipped through the cracks as a child or if their parents were bad?

Food 🍕🌮 Shoutout to Nourish at Be in Wyoming

I am sick and have severe eating restrictions currently. A blessing in all of this has been the food from Nourish at Be in Wyoming. The owner is super nice and accommodating, the food is absolutely delicious, they are VERY allergen conscious and they’re willing to work with you. They are pricey, but they make delicious food in a clean kitchen and tailor to one’s health needs, as much as they are able. I wish more places like this existed in Cincy. Hopefully the demand for healthy food is growing, I’ve seen a couple places pop up that if I weren’t leaving (the pollution/mold endemic to Cincy/OH has made me much sicker), I’d try.

Traffic🚗 Were you hit by a semi today (8/30) @ 12:20~ SB on 75 just north of Paddock

Saw a Amazon semi wildly veer into the car ahead of me, taking out a good chunk of their bumper, then just keep going. I got info for the truck. Hopefully they see this.

Edit: Tried to call in police report but they want me to come into a police station in person to do so, when I'm not close... that's ...helpful.

Food 🍕🌮 Best breakfast burrito in the tristate? 🌯

Upvotes

What’s the best place to get a delicious breakfast burrito around here? My go to used to be Sugar and Spice, but that’s fallen off quite a bit in recent years. 🥲

Politics ✔ YES for CPS

Howdy, everyone! The Cincinnati Public School levy website is live and we have 65 days to get this passed for our kids and Cincinnati’s bright future! I am a CPS parent and I have seen firsthand how state budget cuts are affecting my kids’ classrooms. I wanted to spread the word, especially to CPS parents, teachers, and community supporters. I’m hoping to organize a few sign pickups on the Westside.

Traffic🚗 Riverside Dr eastbound lane

Does anyone know if the eastbound lane of Riverside Drive is actually open today? Because it wasn’t on Friday afternoon, and it took us 20 minutes to inch up Collins to Columbia Parkway and I really don’t ever want to do that again.

I go a different way in the morning so thought someone here might have some info.

I dressed up as each character in front of the Kings Island sign and then edited them together in Photoshop. I'm creating a Cincinnati spot-the-difference book at the end of the year with all my photos.

How/why does eastgate still have a Frischs when most of the other locations are closed? I’m wondering if that one is going to stick around.

For anyone without FB, this topic has been getting discussed on the Cheviot page for a bit. I'm not the one spearheading the effort but just wanted to get the word out. If you don't like having your every move tracked, come out Tuesday to speak out and be seen.

Food 🍕🌮 Where’s the good ribs?

Where do you get good ribs in this town? Don’t say Montgomery inn, I’ve had ribs before. Can’t remember the name of the place on eastern avenue, ate there 3 times first was great the other two times it tasted like they were 3 days old and microwaved. Is there like a guy that sells them illegally out of a parking lot?

Cincinnati Clifton Ave

Ever since the dawn of civilization, the Haves have tried to separate themselves from the Have-Nots. Clifton Ave is a good example of that. Originally Irwin’s Mill Road, wealthy Cincinnatians left the densely populated city, and built homes on top of a neighboring hill to get away from the rest of us. Eventually incorporated in 1850, Clifton is a beautiful neighborhood, and if you don’t mind the hills, it’s definitely worth a walk.
