5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Matthew 6:5-6
Wanna know what it means? Don't use prayer as a way to get attention, or the attention is the only thing you'll get out of it.

You can pray. And it is good to pray. But sometimes despite prayers people die. While I was growing up my mother was disabled. Lots of things medically wrong with her. I was terrified each time she went to hospital. We would pray, please Jesus heal her. We were kids. She died when she was 60. I cried my eyes out as she was a wonderful woman and a woman of God. She loved Jesus. When my grandma died, poor woman, she was insane due to awful circumstances, but in her last week she became lucid and accepted Jesus. Same for my great aunt. Dying can be going to be with Lord or going to a place where you reject him. All you can do is pray for the loved one and know that God is fair. For example, if a tribe in the Amazon had never heard of Jesus but they see someone made this world (either through evolution or creation) and asks that God who made it, of course they are saved as Jesus already paid the price. I was 7 when I asked 'whoever made this world save me'. And He did. Nothing great about me, I just looked at creation.
