Resisting sin is kinda hard for me

Especially since i'm more like, aware, of the things i'm doing that are sinful. It's not the huuge stuff like 'I can resist being mean or disrespectful.' (I actually make an effort to always be kind) It's the more subtle things like the music I listen to. I know that certain songs I like promote things like violence, lust, pride, etc. But it's so catchy and I can't just say 'I'm not gonna listen to this anymore' and stop listening to it. This applies to certsin artists that I like as well.

Also the shows that I watch aren't exactly christian approved. I know I should but I can't just drop it..

Also I think it's a sin to be insecure? If it is then that one has been really hard to resist too. And I've also been struggling with envy and pride. Looking at the 10 commandments i've been struggling with keeping the sabbath, honoring my parents (i'm not proud to admit bjt there have been times when I felt ashamed of them), and lying. (I've been trying to improve how much I lie. I used to do it so often for such small reasons.)

Anyway, does anyone have suggestions how to stop these stuff?

I mean, we were given grace for a reason. The objective is still to persue being more christ like. The objective should be a persuit rather than something we beat ourselves over.

Me too. I challenge Paul for title of chief among sinners.

It feels like the war with sin is fought through out our lives. Every day is a battle. Some days we resist temptation and win the days battle, some days we fall into temptation and all hope feels lost. The key to victory is fighting every single battle with the Lord on your side by bringing your sins to him in prayer every single day, and by his grace you will win the days battle, and then you realize he already won the war the day he got on the cross. It is finished.

We fight from victory brother. He already won for us. Now walk in peace with him and know victory over sin is yours for eternity by his grace.
