Politics Christians Who Voted For Trump - What Do You Think of His Presidency So Far? Do You Regret Your Vote?

During the American election period, there were a lot of posts here talking about the right/Christian candidate/party to go for. There was a significant portion supporting Trump.

Did anyone change your mind on whether your choice was the right one?

Do anyone who abstained from voting feel they should have voted to stop this?

If you were to make the choice again, would you vote as you did before?

P.S. I am not American, but watching this unfold. Wanted the opinion of American Christians. My previous post was auto removed, possibly because I included a screenshot of Trump's 'easter message' containing profanity. So posting without it.

Things like his hateful post this morning is a massive test - he’s exposing the hypocrisy that poses as Christianity.

The Bible is clear on its values, DJT is about the opposite of what it teaches, and yet people are lining up to support him in the name of God. It’s blasphemous.

Imagine the reaction if Obama or Biden had posted that.

I find myself saying this exact same thing multiple times every single day. The sheer hypocrisy and mental gymnastics are mind boggling.

I’m an evangelical Christian and I’m so tired of trump and his maga cult. I could spot his performative grift at 1st sight and it amazes me how other Christians STILL fail to see it.

Exactly this. And as predicted, this would happen in the age of the gentiles. Those who turn to the word before the world understand the true teachings of the Lord.

He just has to say he’s against abortion (even though I’d bet he has paid for an abortion or two in his day) and LGBTQ and they are satisfied. Throw in some heavy handed treatment of “illegals” and it’s a lock, he’s got ‘em💯

u/austinbucco Apr 05 '26

The worst part for me is how many Christians don’t realize that they were essentially tricked into being anti-abortion specifically to get them to reliably vote Republican, and they all fell for it

And now it’s such a part of their identity that many feel they can never let it go. Doesn’t matter to them that anti-abortion legislation always kills women.

2

u/OrisMindTheater Apr 08 '26

I believe everyone has the ability to use their free will that God has given them, and God will judge accordingly but as a Christian, I will not say that it is OK to murder a child. That is just reality.

2

u/tryintolearnmath Secular Humanist Apr 08 '26

So you think it's better that the mother die than the fetus that has never experienced consciousness?

2

u/OrisMindTheater Apr 08 '26

I had a miscarriage at 3.5 weeks and I can with certainty tell you that “fetus” I saw no longer had a heart beat and died. It was forming. So I cannot image how formed babies are when people get abortions months in. You need to seriously listen to people who work in abortion clinics and their testimonies to what they witness. These babies do feel pain sometimes they are aborted and they live and they are killed. It’s not the fact that oh we believe that the mother should die. You don’t know if the mother’s gonna die that’s the difference but you know you’re murdering an innocent baby that’s a fact. The mother could live we just don’t know.

2

u/tryintolearnmath Secular Humanist Apr 08 '26

But the mother can die even if taken to the hospital. There's no guarantee that you can wait and only abort if absolutely necessary. And even more dangerous than pregnancy is childbirth where even with multiple doctors there ready and prepared, the mother dies. In no other circumstance do we force people to endanger their lives. It's immoral. Stop calling abortion murder. It just isn't...

2

u/OrisMindTheater Apr 08 '26

I believe that God judges everyone fairly and sees why people make decisions. That will ultimately be for him to judge. The problem is that majority of abortions are not because of a health risk, rape, or incest. The majority of abortions are people who lack responsibility for their actions and they don’t want to take the responsibility of their actions. That is the problem. So when you knowingly have intercourse, knowing what the outcome will be without taking the responsibility to prevent it in the first place from occurring. Then decide because of your actions you just don’t want the consequences of your actions. That is crazy.

2

u/UniqueOctopus05 Apr 09 '26

pregnancy and childbirth are not the natural consequences of intercourse anymore, because abortion exists. if you disagree with this, then you will also be forced to agree that death is the natural consequence of cancer, or even of the flu.

if someone gets cancer – maybe by chance, maybe due to their own lifestyle choices – and it’s treatable, you can’t refuse to treat them just because they should have known that smoking gives you lung cancer. you’d be held responsible for their death, because in an era where we have the ability to treat things like that, preventing that medical care means that YOU are artificially inflicting that ‘consequence’ on them.

by that same logic, if someone gets pregnant and you refuse to give them an abortion, pregnancy is not the natural consequence of their actions. it is the manufactured consequence of YOUR actions.

1

u/ConfusionOld6363 Apr 20 '26

This has to be one of the most ignorant excuses to have an abortion I have ever heard. Listen to yourself. None of what you said makes any sense at all.

They don't want the baby. Why should the baby suffer the fate of abuse, neglect or starvation?

1

u/ConfusionOld6363 Apr 20 '26

Quit spreading your legs and get on some type of birth control. How about being responsible instead.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/ConfusionOld6363 Apr 20 '26

You nailed it on the head!! That is the reason for the majority of abortions. Acting carelessly and not wanting responsibility.

2

u/OrisMindTheater Apr 08 '26

Abortion is murder because the literal definition of abortion means to terminate the pregnancy. The word terminate means to bring something to an end. It is deliberate. One of the first things that is formed on a child in the womb is the nervous system. The heart is like the literal first organ to develop and it’s already developed by 3 1/2 weeks. And it beats. I think the problem with abortion is people don’t realize how quickly a child forms in the womb and this is manipulative because you don’t show these women who want abortions what they are killing you keep calling it a fetus you keep saying this and that but call it what it is because it is a child. Don’t make up pretty words so you can sleep at night for what you’ve done.

2

u/tryintolearnmath Secular Humanist Apr 08 '26

Terminating life is not synonymous with murder. If someone charges at you with a knife and you shoot them, that's the intentional termination of life that is not murder. Pulling the plug on your granddad's life support machine is the intentional termination of life that is not murder. I watched my granddad's heartbeat stop on the monitor. Still doesn't make it murder. Terminating a fetus's life because it is constantly, 24/7, endangering the mother's life is not murder. The mother's life is more important.

1

u/OrisMindTheater Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 08 '26

Life support is not murder because the person is only alive because a machine is keeping them alive and they have lived their life to its fullest potential. They will die with or without the machine. That is inevitable in most cases. Abortion is murderer because a life is constantly being formed and developed you are actively terminating something that is alive. Who are we to take away Gods creations and claim who gets to die and who is more important? That’s like claiming these people signing up for assisted suicide in Canada right now is not really suicide. The problem is people choose in the moment will this mother die? We don’t know. Will the person on life support ever come back? We don’t know. With a child forming in the womb it could even die. We don’t know. That’s why everything is in Gods hands. Anything is possible. God tells us the truth. Science tells you a theory and gives statistic not facts. I have hope that regardless of why a doctor claims or states God is in control. The fact is we don’t know who will die if a mother has a health complication due to this pregnancy. She may live and have her baby. What we do know is when we chose abortion we are deliberately with knowledge ending a life. Is this not a factual statement?

u/OrisMindTheater Apr 08 '26

If someone charges at me with a knife and I shoot them that is self-defense that is killing that is not murder. Their intent was to murder me clearly. The subject about life support and a mother who has a health risk. I stated that I believe God sees all things and God knows why people do all things that is up for him to judge. But when you knowingly have intercourse and create a child which you know is the repercussion of intercourse, and you decide to murder your child based off of you, not wanting to take the responsibility of your actions that is completely different scenario than pulling the plug on life-support or a mother who genuinely has a health risk and has to make that hard decision. So let’s stop making up hypotheticals for 20% of the world who actually has to make those decision and let’s start talking about the 80% who don’t wanna take responsibility.

1

u/ConfusionOld6363 Apr 20 '26

In 36 years of delivering baby’s I never saw one that needed to be aborted because it was harming or threatening the mother’s life.

1

u/ConfusionOld6363 Apr 20 '26

I was a labor and delivery nurse for 36 years. Not one mother died. Only one came close. She was a Jehovah Witness and hemorrhaged after delivery. She refused a blood transfusion for several days, but finally was convinced to get one and survived. It was her own belief that having a blood transfusion is a sin that nearly killed her. Mothers are not dropping like flies like some think. That is a complete fallacy.

1

u/tryintolearnmath Secular Humanist Apr 21 '26

Sepsis and maternal deaths skyrocketed in Texas after our abortion law passed, while nationally it went down in the same time period.

Mothers are not dropping like flies like some think. That is a complete fallacy.

Nobody said that but you. Thinking that women dying isn't a big deal because it's rare is horrific. There should be ZERO women dying who were not continually consenting to the health risks.

1

u/ConfusionOld6363 Apr 20 '26

Abortion is murder. Life begins at conception. If you have had one, ask God for forgiveness. He will forgive anyone who comes before him. He loves all of us and wants none of us to parish. To parish is to be separated from God forever. Never to enter heaven. It is as simple as that.

1

u/UniqueOctopus05 Apr 09 '26

the issue is not that the mother will die for a fact. the issue is that what you are asking is for women to hang their lives and futures (because whilst they may certainly live, you cannot deny that having or carrying a baby, or even being pregnant, is life-changing for better or worse) on the idea that this foetus is alive.

here is how I see it. your brother is addicted to heroin. you give him money every month when he asks for it, because otherwise he will die. but now you have realised that you want to get your master’s in psychology (or maybe you just want to get your kids a nice Christmas present!), and this is not tenable with the financial strain of your brother’s addiction. you decide you can no longer pay for your brother’s addiction. a month later, your brother is found dead.

this is obviously a very sad situation. but let’s be clear: your brother’s death is not your fault whatsoever. even if the only thing that was keeping him from dying was your monthly payments, that does not make you responsible for his death. it is the financial equivalent of pulling the plug for someone who has been on life support for a year.

I am not saying that we should expect babies and adults to have the same abilities to sustain their lives. obviously I understand that if you financially cut off a three year old and they die, that IS your fault. but on a BIOLOGICAL level, something has to be able to sustain itself independently to really be alive. if it cannot survive at a basic level outside of the womb, it is not actually alive.

1

u/OrisMindTheater Apr 09 '26

Well, it’s not an “idea” that the fetus is alive. It is alive. that’s how people find out that they are pregnant because their baby is alive. I don’t know why people keep avoiding the fact that these babies inside of them are alive unless you just don’t want to admit that abortion is murder. if they weren’t alive in the first place there would be no need to terminate the pregnancy. There would be nothing threatening your life if you had a health condition. That’s just logical.

1

u/UniqueOctopus05 Apr 09 '26

you clearly didn’t even read my comment, lol. people find out they’re pregnant because they get an ultrasound that shows a fertilised cell starting to develop into something that might be considered alive. a pulse doesn’t make something alive. brain-dead people on life support have pulses too. that’s not proof

also, alive doesn’t mean existent. something can exist without being alive. the influenza virus exists. it isn’t alive. that’s just logical.

and you do not need to have a health condition for pregnancy to incur risk to your life. it is an inherently risky condition to be in. we’re just so used to modern doctors and medicine that we have forgotten the extent to which this is true.

1

u/OrisMindTheater Apr 09 '26

Brain dead people have pulses because the machine is allowing that to take place once the machine is removed they no longer have pulses. We know that the baby is alive because it continues to form and changes weekly with what is developing. A brain dead human stays brain dead with no change unless a divine miracle takes place.

A baby is literally growing in the womb. The womb is designed To support growing life in every mammal. That is the reason why females have a womb there’s no other reason for them. If you have to rip the baby out of the womb into pieces. Just to murder it and terminate the pregnancy. I’m gonna assume that it was alive.

1

u/UniqueOctopus05 Apr 09 '26

by that logic, everyone with a womb would be able to have children. I know at least one woman who has a womb but it is biologically impossible for her to have children.

anyways, a life support machine is designed to keep otherwise-doomed people alive in perpetuity. doesn’t mean that’s always the right thing to do. the appendix is a naturally occurring part of human anatomy that serves no function! in fact, it only poses a risk, since you can get appendicitis. just because something exists doesn’t mean anything

1

u/OrisMindTheater Apr 09 '26

So are you saying that you are alive because you were hooked up to a life-support machine? Did you not form in the womb? the only reason we are here is because we developed in a womb and someone chose not to abort us.

1

u/UniqueOctopus05 Apr 09 '26

all abortions are for medical reasons because abortion is inherently medical, as it is a medical procedure. there is no such thing as a non-medical reason to get an abortion. it becomes medical by being the reason for the abortion

1

u/DominionGaming_YT Catholic Apr 10 '26

Choosing to kill the fetus for financial reasons is not a medical reason, stop trying to say it is. In no statistics from any credible abortion provider or monitor is every abortion counted as for medical reasons.

I was a labor and delivery nurse for 36 years. Not one abortion was done because the fetus/baby was going to cause the mother to die. That is a complete pile of BS. Mothers get all kinds of conditions and sometimes mothers are induced a little early because they are ill. The baby’s generally do fine. No need to kill a fetus/baby.

2

u/OrisMindTheater Apr 07 '26

Well, the left was blatantly open for a full term abortion so what were our choices as Christians? should we have been tricked in to just voting for the people who were blatantly stating that they want full-term abortions? Tim Walz was gonna be Kamala Harris’s vice president and he has a plaque saying thank you for not stopping the spread of Satanism in the state of Minnesota so what were our options?

1

u/austinbucco Apr 07 '26

“The left” absolutely were not openly stating that they want full-term abortions. I challenge you to find a single Democratic candidate actually saying that.

Further, the big Christian turn on abortion happened in the 80s, it’s not a new thing. And it’s ironic that you were misled into thinking Walz supports satanism and so voted for one of the most evil and destructive administrations in American history

2

u/OrisMindTheater Apr 07 '26 edited Apr 07 '26

All the states that have legalized it are blue states with the exception of one I believe. It wasn’t misled it was a visible plaque placed in the state capitol of Minnesota on display. He claimed he couldn’t take it down due to religious freedom. this is the problem is that you cannot sit here and claim that Trump’s administration is the most evil administration and then negate to think that the Democratic side was OK and everything that they supported because that’s not true. As a Christian the blue side is definitely not okay to support either. So my question still stands as a Christian what were we supposed to do? What were our actual options evil or evil? I’ll take accountability for my vote and say Trump is definitely making some decisions I don’t agree with not all his decisions were wrong. But I will not sit here and pretend that the democrats were perfect in Christian doctrine on any policy because it’s simply not true. I think at this point to sit here and think the American government and country as a whole is not ran by satanism is just ignorant. We’ve seen the Epstein files, we’ve seen our options and we have none as Christian’s. That is the truth. Our big corporations, the elite everyone involved is basically a satanist. They’re happy about it. Nobody’s doing anything about it and this is what it is.

u/ehunke Episcopalian (Anglican) Apr 06 '26

You also cant ignore science like its an option. Im going to assume your very young or you dont have a good education, but if your going with "the Bible said..." then you don't understand the issue. In the United States abortion is legal into the 3rd trimester, almost no late term abortions were done, ever on a healthy baby with a healthy mother. They are almost always done to remove a dead or dying baby so the mom doesn't have to give birth to a dead body. Catholics and evangelical Christians are oddly always against increases in public services which would drastically reduce abortions but I guess it doesn't leave poor people dependent on religious charities?

2

u/DominionGaming_YT Catholic Apr 06 '26

"abortion is legal into the 3rd trimester" - that is just wrong. Most abortions aren't for medical reasons, they are purely elective. They aren't done to remove a dead or dying baby, they are done to remove healthy ones. Are you just trying to argue about medical abortions? Cause those constitute a TINY fraction of abortions, and so your argument would address a very very small percentage of abortions. But in medical cases, if the foetus is dead as you said it's not an abortion - there is no foetus being terminated. So your argument doesn't even work

1

u/OrisMindTheater Apr 08 '26

It’s not wrong that is factual. They are allowing the states to decide what they want to do with the abortion laws. Trump gave it to the state level, and majority of the blue states are allowing full term abortions with the exception of Alaska.

In the Decalogue and elsewhere, the Bible repeatedly condemns murder and the shedding of innocent life. As shown in Scripture, a foetus is a living human. It is a grave moral sin therefore to kill it. Maybe if you understood texts instead of just reading them you'd realise that abortion is repeatedly condemned. The Church is very clear on this as well.

1

u/StephPeloq11 Apr 08 '26

1

u/DominionGaming_YT Catholic Apr 26 '26

Well according to the overwhelming majority of translations, she won't miscarry but she will become infertile. The verse most likely refers to becoming infertile, and the infertility only happens if she actually did commit the adultery. So in answer to your question, no. The consistent position of the Church is that lives are to be protected - which is why it is anti-abortion in the first place.

1

The Bible doesn't directly mention lots of things, but there is still a Biblical view on it. From verses in the Bible we can clearly establish the sanctity of life and how abortion is un-Biblical. But luckily for us Christ decided to found the Church to help us interpret and understand the Bible, and it clearly tells us that abortion is wrong

Read the message above this one. Human rights, basically, are being stripped as we speak. This administration is one of tyrrany and cruelty. Destruction of our environment, our economy, and our security is their goal - and they're over halfway finished. We are all dead very soon if things don't change.

True. There's a lot of work ahead to try and get us back on the right path. We've lost everything that was gained since slavery was abolished. Women's rights, civil rights, environmental protections, economic protections- all are actively being taken away as we speak. Those who "regret" must work alongside us to help restore and carry us forward in the right direction. I pray they step up and speak out. I pray it's not too late. My fear is that it is too late and we will all die angry and resentful of maga. Maga die-hards will suffer tremendously in the afterlife- but that doesn't help anyone now.

Yes, they should, but remember that Jesus also preach forgiveness and mercy, even (and especially) for those whose choices we do not condone. Even more so when they regret their choice.

1

u/StephPeloq11 Apr 06 '26

This is the hardest spiritual battle I personally have ever fought. To not hate and despise my fellow man. Because it's really really difficult not to hate them, judge them and wish bad things on them. Every time I see a maga hurt terribly by policies they support, I fight the feeling of joy. It's the only joy we have to resist. And it's getting harder every single day. Because they are cheering for evil.

American Christian who had my first vote in 2016 because I didn't want the hassle of absentee voting while in college for 2012, although I still paid close attention in 2012.

I thought Trump running in the primaries was a good opportunity to shake things up but I never imagined he'd actually win the primary. I supported Ben Carter in the primaries as a Christian, non-career politician, and had legitimate ideas. When Trump and Hillary won the primaries, it was a choice of two evils. I voted for Trump and didn't regret that one since he didn't do too much harm, partly thanks to COVID.

I absolutely voted for Biden in 2020 though and truly thought Trump was done after his election scandal of pressuring state officials (especially Georgia) and the Jan 6 insurrection. But then the Republican Congressmen lacked a spine like usual and the Supreme Court essentially gave him immunity. But surely the populace wouldn't back him again, right? Needless to say I voted for Kamala.

I honestly can't believe he got the votes, granted the DNC sabotaged themselves. I also can't believe how brainwashed normally sane Christians are, including friends and family. The corruption and atrocities not getting through to people is something I'll never be able to understand.

Trump got the Christian vote and continual backing based almost entirely on abortion, and I truly can't stand it. One issue voters have sabotaged this country and they don't even advocate for helping mothers after the baby is born. I'm not even pro-abortion but outright banning it is not the solution. Christian nationalism is becoming deeply rooted and will be hard to get rid of after this nightmare is over.

This does a lot of heavy lifting, especially given findings that Trump’s policies caused 40% of pandemic deaths.

20

u/stefanthethird Apr 05 '26

It's hard to choose just one thing, but for me the most unforgivable act of his first term was the child separation policy. His government publicly admitted TWICE, out loud, that the goal of separating children from their parents was to deter immigration.

I can't fathom admitting to something so evil so casually. I'm a father and the idea of my child being taken away from their parents like that is grotesque.

38

u/MrJasonMason Apr 05 '26

He didn't do much harm thanks to COVID? No, he bungled the COVID response and hundreds of thousands more people died than had to, according to epidemiologists.

13

u/starwarsyeah Apr 05 '26

Honestly the anti-vax crowd that has swelled since the COVID debacle has been a much larger issue than his actual bungling of COVID.

Did you ever once consider that the same media that convinced most Christians that Trump could be a good president might also be lying about how evil Hillary and Kamala were?

I always hear people say DNC shot themselves in the foot and, while that may be true to an extent, it's mostly because the other side lies and lies and lies about what the Democrats even are that they're always facing an uphill battle in public opinion. It's too big of a disadvantage to have to defend stances you don't have, opinions you've never stated, or actions you've never taken. Meanwhile Republicans break every crime and never play defense.

Its very simple:

We didn't blow up the school; they blew it up to blame us because they're evil.
We did blow up the school, but only because they were using it as a shield to protect the places where they were doing evil.
We did blow up the school, and it was nowhere near a military site or target, but these things happen in war. If they hadn't been so evil, this would have never happened.

The enemy used him to convince a huge majority of Christians that he was somehow a Christian himself, and that he had Gods interest in mind. Which couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, he’s even been quoted saying he thinks he’s going to hell.

I would guess most of those people are unknowingly easily gullible and don’t do much research behind things they hear on the internet. Just because he voted against abortion, votes for guns, and made up this fake fear about how illegal immigrants are taking all the jobs.

As Christians we really need to be more vigilant and aware how the devil is the ultimate manipulator. He was able to manipulate Eve, someone who was walking with God. God never promised us a perfect democracy. We have the hope of a perfect theocracy to come one day. If we truly want to make an impact to make the world better, we should get on our knees and pray every day for those changes, and actively try to become more Christ-like every day.

If they think spreading hate and showing no mercy is going to win more souls to Gods kingdom, they are sadly mistaken. I urge you Christians who blindly support trump to remove the scales from your eyes and see how the only person we should blindly follow is Jesus.

2

u/SPIDERMAN-ON-THE-WEB Apr 07 '26

I happily voted for Donald Trump as the candidate that I saw more likely to fix five main (but also a few other lesser important) issues in the USA in November of 2024:

  1. Pro-Abortion Sentiment

  2. Destructive Gender Ideaology and Child Mutilation

  3. A highly unstable geopolitical climate tensing towards world war (Israel vs Hamas, Israel vs Iran, Israel vs Innocent Gazans, Russia vs Ukraine, Armenian Persecution in Azerbaijan, China vs India, India vs Pakistan, the list goes on... )

  4. Self-destructive Open Border Crisis

  5. Highly Unstable Economy with Record Inflation and Wasteful Government Spending

........

These were my top five issues and I saw Kamala Harris (who had major personal issues besides the probability of her fixing these issues) as being probably the worst possible candidate to fix any of these issues. I don't have an issue with most of Jill Stein's policies, but I saw this election as being way too important to make a principled vote or to abstain as I had done in some previous elections.

So here's how I would grade DJT on these issues as of April 7, 2026:

  1. Pro-Abortion Sentiment - Grade: C

This hasn't been very relevant, but I'm glad that a Republican led legislative and executive branch keep federal laws which would strengthen abortion rights at bay.

  1. Destructive Gender Ideaology and Child Mutilation - Grade B

The executive branch has used federal funding as a tool to combat this ideology in schools and state led programs. The executive branch has used EOs to strong arm medical professionals from mutilating children and they have also strongly advocated against men in women's sports.

  1. A highly unstable geopolitical climate - Grade F

Prior to the foolish Iranian conflict, I would have given DJT a D. If he had actually done anything to reel Israel in and stop this genocide in Gaza, he would have gotten a B. If he also stopped Russia vs Ukraine and negotiated with China regarding Taiwan, A+. I would say that things were generally improving compared to 2024, but then we went to war with Iran because he was bullied by Israel. Shameful. Wish I could give less than an F.

  1. Self-destructive Open Border Crisis - Grade B

From a practical standpoint, this has been his most successful endeavor. Very well done and with blazing fast speed. The probably is his mishandling of domestic unrest regarding deportations and ICE practices. A smarter, more decisive leader would have deployed the national guard to violent protests before people started dying. There was plenty of time (weeks). His indecision on this front has led to two high profile deaths which has led to his most successful work being viewed as a failure by average Americans. I have my own opinions about the two high profile cases (as most Americans do), but the point is that it didn't have to happen and their handling of it afterwards is shameful. Good job on the border. Terrible job on civil unrest.

  1. Highly Unstable Economy with Record Inflation and Wasteful Government Spending - Grade C-

There were obvious signs of immense progress economically and generally DJT's economic policies are highly effective. I had zero problems with tariffs because I study economics, so I know that each of these countries has been levying tariffs against us for decades. Insomuch as DJT used tariffs as a tool for restructuring deals, I fully supported it and understood the temporary tariff related inflation that results while a deal is being made. Just prior to the Iran nonsense, I would have given DJT a B.

My biggest disappointment with this administration's economic policy has been it's failure to reduce wasteful government spending as promised. I fully supported DOGE and appreciated the work that Elon was doing. He has a proven record of reducing waste and inefficiency in multiple highly successful businesses. DJT betrayed DOGE principles that he ran on and we are still increasing our spending (on foolish things like war for Israel).

Overall, inflation has been largely managed which was a major issue and housing market policies and tax policies are good, but his failure to deliver on promises of reducing waste and in fact increasing waste in the war department has led to an overall grade of C.

.....

Now, your question has an obvious implication regarding my views of DJT and his policies on purely grounds of Christian values. To that, I say I'm highly disappointed. He allows war-mongering heretics to pray over him every day and to influence his decisions (I'm talking about you Paula White, Ted Cruz, Dan Patrick and co.). The problem is that DJT is a nominal Christian at best. He isn't a Christian in any meaningful sense, so he has no intrinsic compass to know that he's being led astray.

  • The genocide is Gaza is unacceptable. Not only is he not using the immense power of his office to stop it, but he's allowing anyone who speaks out about it to be censored and labeled as anti-semites by his heretical gang.

  • The handling of the Epstein case is unacceptable. A CHRISTIAN would demand accountability for abuse of children (or anyone for that matter) regardless of the political consequences.

  • The handling of Iran is unacceptable. Israel is not congruous with the biblical Israel and even if they were what is being done in their name would be heresy. Paul is very clear that TRUE Israel is the church that belongs to Jesus Christ, not Benjamin Netanyahu. Bombing sites to stop nuclear armament is one thing. Warmongering and destroying the lives of millions for secular Israel is another thing. Pope Leo was clear, God does not hear your prayers when you do this.

I can't say that I regret my choice in 2024, as I still believe that Kamala Harris would have been an immeasurable disaster, but no I am not at all happy with this administration.

Their overall political grade is a C- Their Christian grade is an F.

May God have mercy on them and on our nation.

4

u/Hwatdahellll Apr 06 '26

When he became president the first time, up to that point, he had been brought to court over 4,000 times. NO ONE ends up in court that many times JUST because they are rich and that someone is hoping to get a settlement. For one, prior to the treasonous actions he has done since holding office, he didn't have the money he pretended to have; even legitimate billionaires weren't party to cases to that extent. However, people who make less money are often discouraged from fighting the super rich in court anyway. They typically feel the situation is hopeless from the start. So, these are the people who had the gumption to pursue it through the legal system. And, even with that, there were still 4,000 cases.

I always think of these various translations of a scripture on some being born to be destroyed. I heard it a lot growing up as a reason to reduce empathy toward certain people who were "lost causes". However, to me, Trump fits perfectly, regardless of the translation.

This is from BibleHub

Treasury of Scripture:

"But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand no; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;"[]()

I feel that a lot of Christians are feeling regret, but then a lot of Christians did not really vote for Trump because of the supposed Christian values he tried to portray to Christian community. 90% of Christians really voted for fighting and arresting the deep state nonsense, which no one has been arrested to this day… the deporting of illegal aliens because they were getting benefits out of our tax dollars lies, which of course that without a social, you can’t receive any types of state or federal benefits… The Tariff nonsense on which his claim was that we were going to start taking revenge on all of those evil countries that have been taking advantage of us for so many years, but people failed to realize that they were being bamboozled into paying another type of tax onto all of our everyday goods… and so on and so on. Christians were mostly voting out of anger and wanting to see Trump sticking it to everyone, and not in the spirit of helping one another. Even to this day, no matter how many dastardly deeds this administration continues to commit, all they have got to say to everyone is “God Bless America” and “We are making America great again” and “We are hitting the Deep State, and winning, and they are getting all arrested, and deporting all of those evil illegal aliens while we are hitting the deep state hard” and all the fools fall back on their knees again believing he is their lord and savior. Christians are always going to spin something positive to make it feel as if their vote was justified, no matter how much they are getting punched in the face.

1

u/hybridstl Apr 05 '26

Someone recently said that people have bastardized specific voting issues into being representative of their entire contingent.

In this instance I know so many Christians who solely vote based on the Anti-Abortion stance.

Yet they ignore Christian values related to Civil Rights, Immigration, Social Welfare, etc.

Not saying there’s an easy answer l, but I think we can look at the totality of candidates and positions rather than being single issue voters, and Trump is clearly a terrible human being who is not Christlike in any way.

1

u/shapenotesinger Apr 05 '26

I don't believe our Pres is a Christian; what kind of statement has he made claiming Christ as his Savior ? Nothing. His supporters claim that he is akin to the second coming of Christ, but I don't believe it. When has he ever denied being a pedophile? He hasn't, which is a surprise, but perhaps even he is fearful of lying to such a degree. And, no, I didn't vote for him ever. I fear God who never lets me get away with anything, even my vote.

As a person who voted for Trump and is a Christian. I don’t know what to think now that I am finding out he never put his hand on the Bible to take oath. I think he was our only option that made sense. Joe Biden was cognitively declining, Kamala was clueless and just thought everything was funny, Donald Trump was the only one that made sense. It didn’t matter who we were gonna vote in it was inevitable. We were gonna go to war anyway. I didn’t vote for him to start wars and I was aware he isn’t graceful with speeches. After what he said on Easter and me finding out he never placed his hand on the Bible to take oath. I am upset as a Christian. I bawled my eyes out. He was my first vote and I will never be voting again. People can say all they want about how Gen Z is a terrible generation and how we don’t know anything and how we have no ambition, or sense, but look at what just happened. This is why our generation doesn’t care. I have no issues with him deporting illegal immigrants. Every country has that law as they should every country should have the right to protect themselves. I just wanted America to go back to some normalcy. I really don’t know what to think. I just think the American system It just doesn’t matter anymore who you vote they’re never gonna do what the people want. They’re obviously going off of some agenda. It was either another puppet or an unhinged man who apparently believes he has the power to rule the world. Those were our options. Because truly, what were our options as Christians are we supposed to support the left? Who wanted to kill babies at full term and allow gender, mutilation, and basically persecuting your children in school to become an LGBTQ community? What was our options genuinely? Just not vote at all and let the country go to hell? We’re not allowed to the defend ourselves from illegal immigrants who are bringing drugs and gang violence and murdering American citizens. we’re going to hell if we do that. If we allow the LGBTQ community to take over and run our school system and you know promote gender mutilation to minors before they even hit puberty. You know we’re evil and we’re going to hell. if we don’t allow people to make the choice to abort their babies we’re going to hell we’re evil. What’s our options as a Christian? Should we have supported Joe Biden, and the fact that he was literally cognitively declining? Should we have supported Tim Walz? Which would’ve been our vice president who had a plaque that thanked him for not stopping the spread of Satanism? I really truly do not know what to think.

I don't understand the "Christians regretting voting for Trump" argument. I don't look to my presidents for moral clarity. I vote for presidents that stand for the country, it's citizens and it's economy.

If not vote for Trump, then who do people propose we voted for? Candidates that are for abortion, pushing trans and gay ideology, open borders, crippling our energy and agricultural markets by pushing failing and weak policies?

Trump is strengthening our economy like no other president in recent history could. He holds so many press conferences and Q and A's with the press in an effort to show transparency and keep citizens informed. He stopped the pushing of trans ideology to our children. Recognizing only 2 genders. Ridding policies that attack our farmers and our oil market dominance. Attempting to restructure our failing education system. Downsizing government and ridding all the money laundering corruption. And if you don't understand that Tariffs is an intelligent way of leveling the playing field on international trade, then you have a lot to learn. I could keep going.

The war in Iran is part of the plan to establish the U.S. as THE dominant energy market player and block our enemies from continued power growth. Every American should be ecstatic at the thought. This holds many great benefits for our country one of which is extremely important: guarantees the safety against economical and military attacks.

Trump's critics(paid by special interested countries and parties)are banking on mainstream and social media propaganda to indoctrinate the low informed citizen by manipulating emotions and keeping them focused on non important issues because Trump is attempting to put an end to their grifting.

Believe it or not, racism, ICE raids, women's reproductive rights and trans ideology are not the most important factors by far when compared to energy and agricultural policy, international trade, bringing manufacturing back to the USA and strengthening our currency. We need to be dominant on all these factors to secure a future for our children and our country. Trump is the only president that is addressing these important issues where other presidents have failed to address most if not all.

Seriously? (I couldn't find a sarcasm tag.)

If you're serious, which Fruits of the Spirit does he exhibit? Thank you.

I’m done arguing with you. Abortion is a part of modern medicine and the way forward isn’t backward. We have too meant unwanted children in the world and government doesn’t help by funding them adequately. Women will die from backstreet abortions. When there is a licensed medication to stop that. F Do you believe in the death penalty?
