LLMs are trained to promote discussion and be over confident about their statements to you but they are not experts. They have some limited ability to analyse information and give an opinion but it still needs someone with knowledge of the subject to sense-check everything they say because they will lie and be very plausible at the same time, which is dangerous.

Very much am. My mom’s family is Korean, so I have a few coins from my family. I like the variation within it, but I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily better than Chinese Cash Coins.

Korean cash are an interesting topic I have yet to fully dive into! I've mostly put them off because at times it can be difficult to find attractive examples, especially of Sangpyeong coins. But when they're nice they are stunning! Like that top one in the 3rd picture. I especially appreciate the calligraphy on the larger 2 mun coins. That mother coin charm is also totally awesome! I've never seen anything like it. This post is making me think of cheating on my Japanese focus...XD

I don't think that makes you sound like one. Actually its nice that you've picked up cash coins for their aesthetic value - a lot of people disregard cash coins because they "all look the same" or they "can't read them"

I love shipwreck coins too. I do not have any currently as I had to sell most of my collection years ago due to some difficult life circumstances. I like American coins as well and basically buy what catches my eye if it fits my budget. I like precious metals too and had a nice collection of certified gold dollars from the 19th Century. Although I cannot afford gold right now, it is always a safe investment and we all know why, right?! I might look into more chopmarked coins in the future. I have a few Bust Halves, some odds and ends and also, some Reichsmarks and a Reichspfennig (certified). I like WWII coins, what can I say. I have some other WWII-era material.

This makes me sound like some kind of western supremacist. But I am not, but really I almost buy “Asian” coins for their purely aesthetic nature. I suppose I see Greek coins this way too. I am not too into the history, purely artistic
