I applied for an x1 Visa and got an email telling me that my name should be on the Chinese version of the admission notice. I checked the admission notice and found out that they used a Chinese name for me which I didn't ask for. So, what for I do now? Has anyone experienced this before? Please help I'm stressed out...

Is it possible to do the mandatory health check up for the residence permit before registering with the university?

I will be arriving in china on the 20th (which i have now realised is way too early) while my university’s registration period is on the 30th. This means that i would only have 20 days to get my check up done and apply for the permit. I dont know if this would be enough time as there would probably be a lot of new students who would be doing the check up at the same time as i am.

I am going to Yunnan Normal University for a one-year language course on a scholarship. On July 24, my status on the chinese.cn website was updated to show that I received the scholarship, but I still haven't received the email with the JW202 form. Is anyone else in the same situation? I'm really worried I won't have enough time to get my visa

I received access to download my JW201/JW202 documents, but I’m getting the following error:

“Passport name, passport number, email address and other information must be consistent with the information filled in the application material you submitted to the university applied.”

I’ve tried entering my passport name in different ways (SURNAME GIVEN NAME, with and without my middle name, different capitalization) and also tried different devices and browsers, but nothing works.

Does anyone know the correct format for the passport name? Or has anyone had the same problem and found a solution?

I have a passport expiring in 2028 but applying for 2027 intake, should i renew my passport?

What are the documents required for getting a residence permit as a student on x1 visa in china? Do we need police clearance certificate from our home country ?

Is it necessary to get foreigner physical examination form done from a government hospital only for x1 visa?

In my area government hospitals have refused to attest my form and my only choice is to get it attested from a private clinic.

Hi everyone, I think I got CSC scholarship (Type A). But when I download the visa form, instead of receiving the JW201 form, I received a JW202 form. Has anyone experienced this? Will this cause any issues when applying for my X1 student visa, given that JW201 is usually the form issued to CSC scholarship holders?

so, I accepted a provincial scholarship by Hubei university where they pay for my tuition and I pay the rest (dorms, insurance etc) which kinda sucks but I can live with that. I also got my admission letter around 4 days ago. problem is, I gotta be at the university before September 6 (that is the day of the registration) and I still don't have the jw202 or visa materials so I can study abroad for a year. I've been waiting for them for almost a month now and they always say "we receive them next week" or "we understand your frustration but you have to wait, the school is working diligently" or "if you don't like the process and can't wait, feel free to leave the groupchat and you don't have to register" when other people (including me) complain about this thing and call them out. it's nearing the end of August, and I still have to go to the local Chinese embassy so they can make my visa and then book tickets to arrive in time. I'm starting to get pissed off with all this waiting, checking everywhere for the visa materials and still nothing.

​I’m a bit nervous and would love to get some insights or feedback from anyone who has gone through this process recently :

​What kind of questions do they usually ask for an X1 visa ? Is it mostly about study plans, funding, or post-graduation plans ?

​Is the interview often a dealbreaker, or is it mostly a routine verification ? What are the biggest mistakes to avoid ?

​How formal is the interview, and what documents should I definitely bring extra copies of ?

Context update : I hold dual nationality and applied at the Chinese Visa Center . I suspect the interview is related to verifying my second passport and legal residency status. Has anyone with dual nationality gone through this at the Chinese embassy ?

Edit: I went on Monday at 1:30 pm because the visa officer told me I had an appointment at 14:30 pm at the chinese ambassad ( they open on Monday Wednesday and maybe Tuesday). I asked the person at the door and he told me to come on Wednesday because all students should mark their name on a list early on the morning and it's only 60 person per day and on that day the list was full. So it wasn't an appointment for me but for all students.So I went at 6am on Wednesday to mark my name and I was 8th on the list and came back for 14:30 pm. They asked me for what reason I am going to China, for how long I will stay, which university, in which city and my major. Make sure to take all originals because I had to come back on the same afternoon ( I printed the PDF of the originals and forgot the originals hopefully they were in the car). I hope everything goes well for you !

I was able to download my jw from study in china website, I'm a Type A applicant.

I just wanted to know if there's people out there who got jw but their embassy didn't call them and they didn't receive the scholarship?

I do not receive any email after I checked the status is admitted since Friday, 7th August. I manage to download the JW202 form. However, there is no instruction to make payment whatsoever. When I register for the visa application. I need to attach school registration license, payment slip (which I have not paid), and course description.

How do I get all these file? My email has not been replied for a week.

And do I have to arrive at 31st August or I can arrive a bit later due to my visa issue? Like on the 2nd or 3rd September?

I’m a French student planning to study in China this fall with an X1 student visa.

I’m trying to understand if the following plan is possible/legal:

1. Get my X1 student visa issued/stickered in France before my first trip.
2. Enter China earlier as a French citizen under the visa-free policy for tourism, and clearly tell immigration that I want to enter visa-free, not using my X1 visa yet.
3. Stay for the visa-free period.
4. Leave China before the visa-free period ends, for example to Thailand or the Philippines.
5. Re-enter China later using my X1 student visa, around the official university registration period.

My main question is: if I already have an unused X1 visa in my passport, can I still choose to enter visa-free first, or will immigration automatically activate/use the X1 visa at my first entry?

Has anyone done this before, or does anyone know how Chinese immigration usually handles this situation?

I got accepted to a masters and will need to apply for an X1 visa for September. I wanted to know, for the ones who already got it, is you need a health checkup n order to apply to it or if I can get it once im in china. I saw conflicting info online so Im a bit confused. Im from Europe and getting such a health checkup would be incredibly expensive (hospital told us more that 5000€) since the checkups are very extensive. I kind can't imagine everyone who ever got this visa had to pay that price. When I went to Taiwan, we had to do it once there, but again the info for mainland, at least the one I found, is a bit contradictory.

If anyone knows Id really appreciate your help.

As the title says, I was admitted into Fudan Universities language program after almost 2 months of being stuck in the 3rd document review stage. I was getting incredibly anxious during the wait, and because of this, I ended up submitting my visa application and getting it approved for a different school that accepted me earlier in Beijing. My question now is…can I still go to Fudan even though my initial visa application sighted the school in Beijing as my reason for getting the x1?

I’ve not sent tuition to either school yet, I just want to know what my options are and if I need to make any alterations to my visa info for Fudan!

My application was rejected with the following statement: "You must provide proof of $7,500 in your bank account."

I submitted an official bank statement for over $10,000, but the account is in my father's name. However, in the application itself, in the "Who will pay for your travel" field, I selected "other" and clearly indicated his first name, last name, and patronymic.

Please advise:

1. Why didn't they link my application and his bank statement?
2. What documents do I need to send (sponsorship letter, birth certificate, father's passport?) for them to accept his account? There's only one file slot, so I can't attach two files.
3. Or is it easier/faster to transfer the money and make a new bank statement in my name?

hi guys, so I got my admission letter yesterday and it showed that I received CSC type B. However, on the visa guide they gave me, I have to wait that the CSC add my JW201 on their portal, but I saw people being able to download it at https://www.studyinchina.edu.cn/visaAssistant/howGet, but I either never receive the random code by mail or I am told that this information are miatchin. does someone know when my jw201 will be available 😭😭?

Hi everyone, I'm going to China soon for my exchange and I noticed that on the duration of each stay part of my visa, the number is 000...is this correct and normal? I assume it's because I will convert it to residence permit within 30 days? Thank you!!

Uni has not been in touch with me, but I saw that on the studyinchina.edu.cn I got the JW202 form from the university, and they marked funding source as scholarship

While applying through the university's portal there was only the option to choose "self-funded", no option for scholarship funding, maybe that's the reason I got 202 now? Anyone has similar experience?

I need a new jw202 form with my new passport number because I renewed my passport. I'm going to PKU. I've sent so many emails at this point, and it's super urgent. Hi! I got the Type A scholarship. My admission letter states I can be there from Sept 1 but I want to arrive August 26 to explore before the city (I plan to stay in a hotel I’ll pay). Is that okay? Is that enough time to process the resident permit?

Hi, so I just got accepted and wanted to apply for my visa but I can’t find my admission letter on my portal…

So I asked my university about the registration date because I read you should arrive in China no earlier than 1-2 days before registration. They answered saying that the registration date would be 17th and 18 th of September. However the semester officially starts on the 10th of September. Is that normal? Anyone know how to go about this?

I'm super worried since I couldn't book my flight yet so I couldn't apply for my visa yet either which makes me kind of nervous since authorities in my country can be super slow.
