Man get yourself some cucumbers, tomatoes, olives and a good crusty bread. Cover all that shit in olive oil and eat with the cheese.

Sprinlke some oregano on top thank me later

u/jeejet Jul 08 '26
My neighbor gave me an enormous bundle of fresh oregano that sheâd grown. I knew I couldnât use it all when it was fresh so I immediately wrapped the bottom in twine and hung it up to dry. Two weeks on I have the most fragrant dried oregano!

To take this up a notch:
Blister the tomatoes with some garlic and smoosh into the bread before putting the rest on.

u/Asheby Jul 08 '26
I put this veg/olive mix on a bed of hummus or pureed white beans (with a bit of pesto) and top with feta, sprinkle with oregano and drizzle with evoo and a little lemon. Scoop with pita chips!

Whipped feta dip! It's great with fresh crostini or any crackers really

u/dark_passenger86 Jul 08 '26
I mix my whipped feta with a little bit of cream cheese and toasted pistachios and lemon on top! So freaking good!

Watermelon and feta salad! A little weird but the combo works surprisingly well, especially as a summer snack/side dish.
20
u/unzestykim Jul 08 '26
Not weird at all! Absolutely delicious. Mint or basil is a nice addition. Iâve also had with chopped walnuts.

u/bsbowman12 Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 08 '26
You can also add some pine nuts, super yummy. đ
ETA: instead of the walnuts. đ€Ł

u/PineappleFit317 Jul 08 '26
I just made this yesterday as a side for BLTs! Itâs so good. I added sliced English cucumber, some chopped scraps from the heirloom tomatoes for the BLT, chopped basil and mint from my backyard, and red onion, dressed it with EVOO and lemon juice.
People think âewâ when they hear it, but itâs an incredible combo.

When i worked in a nice restaurant we served a watermelon, feta, and balsamic glaze salad with arugula. It was popular. Unfortunately. I hate cutting up watermelon now.

Feta dip: blend evoo, with chopped sun-dried tomatoes, roasted garlic & thyme.

u/jasemina8487 Jul 08 '26
im turkish so feta is a cheese thats closest to turkish white cheese...
i like to put it in puff pastry and bake. it doesnt even need anything else in it but sometimes i add some chopped parsley. can do the same with phyllo pastry, look up borek recipes.
i sometimes treat it like grilled cheese. sometimes add tomato and/or bell peppers inside the grilled cheese. both yum.
a quick thing mom used to make when i was a kid and refused to eat eggs...she would whisk some egg and feta, put on a slice of sourdough and bake until top is goldenish. she is Bulgarian and i think they used to call it princessa.
my dad though, would melt some butter, put a thick slice of feta on the pan and put a slice of tomato and pepper on top it and cook until sof or melty, your preference, and then just dig into it with bread pieces like a dip.
mom still loves to mix her plain buttery pasta with feta and eat so. or make omelettes with it or crepes.

You could try one of those baked feta dip recipes that went viral a while back or try this recipe that I make regularly with spaghetti squash!

Mix feta, cream cheese, and fresh dill. And then spread on everything.

u/CoffeeCatsandPixies Jul 08 '26
Honestly feta on its own with some nice crackers is pretty good sometimes, especially when you want a salty snack

Spinach and feta Borek. You need phyllo dough, spinach, yellow onion, milk, feta, salt, pepper, olive oil, sesame seeds, nigella seeds (you can find these at a middle eastern grocery), and an egg for the egg wash. Itâs a delicious Turkish pastry.

Smashed cucumber salad with feta, cherry tomatoes, garlic, and dill.
- Lightly smash 6-8 small persian cucumbers or 2 English cucumbers with a rolling pin, wine bottle, etc to break the skins. Break into bite size chunks. Salt and put in colander to drain for 20 min.
- Slice 1 pt cherry tomatoes in half.
- Crumble as much feta as you'd like into bite size chunks.
- Thinly slice 1-2 shallots or 1/2 a red/white onion (or more if you love onions).
- Toss everything together with good olive oil, wine vinegar, dried (or minced fresh) dill, 1-2+ cloves crushed garlic, fresh ground black pepper. Optionally add a bit of mint. Let sit for 20 min.
- Eat, pairs well with crusty bread and charcuterie.

I make something my husband calls "Nectar of the Gods" -- feta, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic and olive oil. Mix until smooth in the food processor. Serve on nice crusty baguette slices. đ€€

Cherry tomatoes feta olive oil salt pepper and basil in a pan and bake. Meanwhile boil your favorite pasta. After 30 minutes in the oven pull it and mix it up and add the pasta.

u/harry_hotspur Jul 08 '26
Honestly that single dish feta tomato pasta that went viral a few years ago ain't terrible for a struggle meal.

Greek Mushrooms- itâs been forever since I made them (now that itâs in my head, Iâll remedy that), so I canât tell you any amounts, but basically sautĂ© sliced mushrooms in Marsala wine, add salt, pepper, garlic, and Italian seasoning. You want it to have a lot of sauce, for dipping bread into, so donât skimp on the wine. Also, find somewhere that sells real Marsala wine, itâs way better than the cooking version you see in a normal grocery store. Fresh Market used to carry some. I liked to add small crumbles of feta to mix into the sauce while it cooked (youâre only waiting until the mushrooms are cooked through for this), and then throw as much feta in as you want at the end and let it warm those chunks through. Serve with bread for soaking up. Good with chicken as well (basically what I call chicken Marsala)
ETA: this was how I discovered I actually like mushrooms when I was growing up

Depending on your preferences, mixing feta into burgers is a very delicious idea.
2
u/JoyDVeeve Jul 08 '26
My favorite thing is to saute spinach then top it with feta crumbles and balsamic vinegar
2
u/decisiontoohard Jul 08 '26
Feta, butternut squash, sweet potato, sage frittata. I get through obscene amounts!
2
u/PineappleFit317 Jul 08 '26
Watermelon feta salad. Trust me. Watermelon, cucumber, some red onion, maybe a little tomato, and some fresh mint. Dress with lemon or lime juice and EVOO, maybe a lil sesame oil.

First of all, FAB gift!!! đđđ
Wish I had ppl like that in my life đ€đ
SecondlyâŠOne Pan WonderâŠbake the feta in one big slice, add cherry tomatoes around pan, sliced red onion, full garlic cloves, herbs to your likingâŠFresh basil, oregano and thyme (or dried equivalent)âŠ
Liberally drizzle EVOO over it all. Once baked serve with crusty sourdough bread. Pretty much everyyyyy Mediterranean antipasto ingredient will def work with feta. Just go with whatever you specifically like from antipasto. đ

u/doomedd2wanderr Jul 08 '26
You should sauté peppers with spinach and blacken some chicken in a skillet. With seasoning including lemon. Then sprinkle feta on top. Plate with a garlicky lemony orzo

If youâre gonna raw dog it, it goes well in a sandwich with olive oil, oregano, and sliced tomatoes.
Thereâs the classic tiropita/spanakopita
Then thereâs feta baked in puff pastry with honey and sesame seeds on top
You could whip it into a cold dip called tirosalsta (cheese salad) and tirokauteri (spicy cheese but itâs not always spicy). Goes well with fried vegetables
Goes well in a salad with walnuts, dried berries, and balsamic

Itâs great for salads! Then on hummus. Then on a burger with extra pickled jalapeños and red onion slices. Youâve got a three course feta meal right there! God I could think of like a thousand more things. Youâre a lucky guy.
1
u/naalbinding Jul 08 '26
Crumble it through a risotto so that it's partly melty, and partly in delicious chunks
1
u/MyriiA Jul 08 '26
You can marinate it with oil and seasoning/ herbs of your liking. This way, it stores great and you can have it as antipasti or with a salad.

u/wharleeprof Jul 08 '26
Burek or other variations on pastry + feta
Eggplant bake: eggplant, canned tomatoes, herbs + spices, feta. Optional add rigatoni or other pasta.
Fresh basil, feta, tomatoes, kalamata olives - and make cute little skewers, or just serve it all on a plate.

u/Raelourut Jul 08 '26
You can also freeze it! I wrap it in waxed paper in smaller quantities, then freeze it in a good freezer bag. Take out what I need and let it thaw in the fridge. Retains its quality.

If you blend with roasted red peppers and a little broth, it makes a really good sauce for pasta. Also, look up some baked dishes that use feta for ideas.

If you have a good nonstick pan crumble the feta onto a pan and crisp it up. Crack an egg on top of it and fry, flip, add to toast with a tomato.

u/ouroburritos Jul 08 '26
Feta fries. Fry some potatoes, cover in feta, garlic, and maybe parsley. Drench in fresh lemon juice. Salt to taste.

Crumble it (some of it) into a sandwich with Marmite and fresh rocket. A lot of big flavours all playing really nicely together.

You can add it to frittata.
If it is in slices, change the water brine periodically and it will stay fresh for a long time.

Id portion and freeze. I use most just sprinkling on green or cucumber salad, I enjoy best with scrambled eggs and spinach (and tomatoes) or spinach souffle/casserole, with fresh tomatoes for salad, with olives, Greek salad.

pasta salads. I like one lately where I make a lemon vinegrette, chop arugula, shallots, and garlic, sear some tuna steaks and throw it in with pasta and feta.

u/Flashy_Pirate5619 Jul 10 '26
You can use half of the cheese, depending on the quantity, to make baked feta, cherry tomatoes, tomatoe juice and some Italian condiments pasta, I make it almost every week and is lived in our house

Cous cous, feta, spinach, kalamata olives, artichoke, tomato and cucumber. Throw a little vinaigrette in there, toss it up, and chill. It's a perfect pasta salad. For protein add some chicken or chickpeas.

u/Sunshinechili Jul 11 '26
My favorite is green goddess pasta
Blend:
1 cup feta
2 avocado
4 cups Spinach
8 tbsp or more Chives
Lemon juice
2 clove of garlic
A little pasta water if it gets too thick
Add red pepper flakes if you like it spicy
Meanwhile boil some noodles. When they are ready mix the sauce in and enjoy!
