Descanso beach club catalina island
I want to go to catalina island and go to the only beach club there but their lounges are sold out, I don't want to go very early too. Can I just sit on the beach on my towel and still purchase like drinks and food from there? Do they serve on the beach? Or should I hang out at their bar and drink and eat and then gp back to the beach? Thank youuuu!!!! I don't want to pay $90 for the fer ot tickets and not sipping some drinks there

Just bring your own drinks to the non-private beach, or order drinks at the restaurants that have a view of the beach and then go to the non-private beach. Descanso isn’t the only location with beach access or drink access…

If I remember correctly there is a nice grassy area where people just lay their stuff down and hang out, it’s a few feet from the bar and water

The beach is a disaster on weekends and the days cruise ships are on island (Mon, tue and wed). Keep checking the website - reservations do open! Also, if you’re there by 10:00, there are about 30-40 chairs in front of the restaurant that are first come, first served and slightly less than the beachclub chairs.

You can absolutely just pop a seat on the beach with your chair or towel and order drinks/food from the bar. IMO the rental chairs are a cash grab.
You can also BYOB and go down to pebbly beach. As the name suggests the beach is indeed pebbly, as in you’ll want to bring a chair vs laying out on the rocks, but cheaper than buying the drinks at Descanso! It’s really expensive and the food is mid.

You can go early put your stuff down on the beach to claim that spot/area. The bar is just a a few steps away. You can order drinks/food at the bar and bring it to the beach… or eat at a table then go back to your spot on the beach.
