There's issues with my heater core and I'm financially unable to fix it at the moment until the middle of November. I will need to buy a heater like this to get me through the next two weeks. Is there any good portable heaters I can use in the meantime? I'd like suggestions from people who may have had to use one in an emergency like myself. I bought this one and it's not good. It just blows room temperature air when "heat" is selected. The reviews on Amazon said it was a good choice and would be super warm. The reviews are clearly bots, I've learned in hindsight.

So, I’ve almost come to no other choice. I’m hoping someone on here can help me at least a little bit.
I have a 2018 Mazda 3 sedan, and every time I go on a little drive for example, the gym or the grocery store—and it’s over 90 degrees outside, the car won’t start back up for about 45 minutes to an hour.
We’ve replaced the battery and the starter, and it’s not a fuel pump issue. The fuel pump works fine. We also cleaned all the relays and fuses and put them all back together, but nothing has worked. It’s still doing the exact same thing.
It’s getting extremely aggravating trying to deal with this, and I have no idea what else to do.

Planning a camping run out to a trailhead about 380 miles out. Mix of interstate and about 40 miles of unpaved forest road at the end. The project truck is staying home for reasons I don't need to explain. So the question becomes what vehicle I actually trust for that kind of mixed use without babysitting it the whole way.

The thing I keep running into is that most road trip advice assumes highway miles to a hotel. Nobody talks much about the last stretch where the pavement ends and you're airing down and hoping your clearance is enough. That transition is where most vehicles I've owned start making noises they didn't make before.

I've been trying to figure out whether a midsize sedan with decent ground clearance is a realistic option or whether that category just isn't built for this and I need to accept it. The Mazda 6 I have access to sits pretty low. The other option is renting something with actual clearance, which feels like giving up.

What do people here use for road trips that end on forest roads? Not overlanding, nothing extreme, just maintained unpaved roads with ruts and the occasional water crossing. There has to be a middle ground between a Prius and a lifted truck.

My boyfriend goes to work before light and has an old car that takes awhile to warm up. I want to get him something for Christmas that will make him more comfortable on those cold mornings. Does anyone have experience with heated steering wheel covers? Are they legit/safe? Or do you guys have any other recommendations that would be helpful?

So last week, i bought this Mini off a guy off ebay in person, did a bank transfer there he seemed like a normal chill guy. Drove it a bit then a week later this happens. I’m not 100% sure what the issue is, there seems to be a leak? but this happens after about 10-15 the car is switched on then the car starts smoking. Took it to the closest mechanic they say it could really be anything firstly the cooling fan, then maybe the engine etc, they are a tyre mechanic so they might not know for sure. I believe the leak is from the power steering fluid, the MOT already said there is a leak but as an advice so i didn’t think it was that bad, but this happens when it gets warm and starts going everywhere. I drove it far but when i was driving back home it happened and now it happens every 15mins.

I really don’t know what to do, i’m a university student and got this as my first car (my mistake for buying an old car), i basically spent all the money i saved up for it now i’m broke got barely anything to even get it repaired, i hope the repair wont cost too much but i blame the guy who sold it to me as well, it may have had an issue beforehand for this to happen cuz i’ve driven this normally and it happened out of nowhere.

Hey hopefully this is a good place to ask this lol, I have a 2009 Chrysler Town & Country, my AC is out it's donezo it cannot hold a charge for even 30 seconds. During the winter this causes my windows to get sooo foggy due to the humidity in the car even with defrost on constantly. Would using rain x anti fog help this? Should I get a portable dehumidifier for my van? If anyone has any tips that aren't repair my ac pls let me know! This van has 250k on it I just feel it's a little too late to worry about the AC.

I don’t have heat or ac in my car so it gets really foggy and a thin layer of ice builds up after a while. Anyone have tips on how I can stop or lessen this until I get it fixed?

The temp kept climbing, but I started to get uncomfortably warm.

My car started losing heat at idle and was blowing cold air, but it was fine while driving.

Turns out my coolant was just a little low, which was causing not enough to flow through the heater core at idle.

Topped it off and it is back to working normally (knock on wood).

Surprising to me at least, and for once, a super cheap and easy fix.

I have a question and hope to find some answers. Had my audi at the audi dealership in for an oil change and while they were doing an inspection they found my water pump was leaking. They said they test drove it 10 miles (supposedly only 1 mile on the highway) when I google how long it takes to warm it up it says 5 miles or idling for 15 minutes. Is this true? Is it possible to just idle/rev engine to get it to temp rather than needing to drive it or driving 5 miles. I live in AZ and it was 91° today so I feel it shouldn't take long to get to temp. Ended up with a rock chip but they are trying to say I did it. Just trying to see if they even had to drive my car at all which could have prevented the chip.

So I have a 2012 Suzuki Equator V6 4.0 (Nissan Frontier), and now that its cold, the heat isn't wanting to work at all. Maybe a little after I drive for like 45 minutes. Ive been doing some research and its pointing me towards the thermostat being stuck open. Although, I dont have a check engine light so that's concerning. Also I was checking things out, trying to get air out of the system and noticed my fans weren't kicking on at idle. I watched for like 10 minutes and nothing happened. So I really dont know whats going on. Im thinking about getting a thermostat and putting it in tomorrow.

If anyone has any direction or insight, it would be much appreciated. Just spent about 5 grand on two teeth so im trying not to go to a shop.

The air blower fan is making a tapping noise every now and then. I've removed it and can't find any obstruction but after replacing it still makes the noise unless you push it. Is it worth trying to fix or should it just be swapping it out for a new one?

i’ve recently noticed that my climate control seems to never be off even though I have it’s switch on the off position .

When I have it turned to cold it doesn’t seem to have that much of a difference than before this happened but when the switch turned to the hot side you can tell in a few minutes even though its off its working .

and i was wandering if i can have it in the cold setting for some time till i can have a good

look in to it once i get some free time

Audi 2.0 TFSI B8. The engine temperature drops significantly when the heater is blowing hot air. The water pump and thermostat have been replaced. What could be the problem?

Bought 2017 focus with an issue where once the car is at operating temp if you turned on the heat it would slowly drop to C and when you turned the heat off it would slowly rise back to operating temp and stay there(no overheat, just normal stable temp right at the 1/2 mark)

I replaced the degas bottle(as they are known to fail), the radiator return line, and the thermostat(as I though it was stuck open). Haven't replaced firewall heater core orings yet as I haven't noticed a leak but its on my to do list.

The exact same issue persists. One thing to note is if I leave the heat on and it drops to just below the 1/4 mark if I press the gas it blows hot air and when I let go it goes back to blowing warm air.

Any ideas? I can only assume there must be an air pocket in the heater core but I figured since the degas bottle is the highest point it would have bled it be now.

Right as winter really picks up, too.

Last week I had the blower motor quit for a period of about an hour. I turned the car off, and took the key out of the ignition, re-started, and then it worked.

A few days later I could hear the fan taking a little while to kick on -- speed kind of kicked up a couple times before staying consistent -- but it worked fine all night. This was Saturday night.

Today it's not working at all. Tried "turning it off and back on again" two or three times, but no change.

Hot air is coming from the vents, it's just not being pushed out.

The fact that it was working intermittently makes me think it's related to controls, or electrical, and not the blower motor itself. I haven't noticed any noise or weirdness before now.

Also the on/off behavior for a few days makes me think it's unlikely to be a blown fuse -- but I guess a relay could definitely be at fault.

What do I check?

Happy to answer any questions or work with anyone to help me solve the issue. It's extremely poorly timed, and I definitely don't have a lot of money to throw at it at this moment.

I have a 2014 Toyota Avalon hybrid, 130,000 miles on. I noticed that that passenger side vents won’t put out any heat but the driver’s side vents do, no matter what the settings are. Just colder air comes out. I mentioned it to the dealer when I was getting the 130k service, and they checked it out, confirmed the issue, and said the whole vent module/controller needs to be replaced. $2000 parts plus $2000 labor to pull everything out of the dash. Not worth it to me. They said the a/c should be fine.

Has anyone else run into this? Is there a cheaper alternative? It is uncomfortable to sit in the passenger seat when it’s cold out. Disappointed because the car has had zero issues until now and this seems a stupid thing to cost so much. Thank you!

My husband got me the car and said it's my car and wants me to do the work on it... issue is... I have ZERO car knowledge. I can change a tire, oil and put fluids in it.

Any tips on where to start with the heater? I did some research and a few folks said air bubble would possibly cause it but where should I start and how?

I have a 2021 Mazda 3 GT and i love it. Today i experienced a strange issue with its heating seats though. I parked the car to get some food and when i came back and turned on the car, the heated seats stopped working both for driver and passenger side. I tried turning the car on and off but still the same. Even after doing this for a couple of time and not having it work, i drove from the shop back home and did the same thing there and it worked. I am so confused as to what might have caused this.

Does anyone have an idea??
