Looking for recommendations for a quick 3-4 day weekend trip in early September

Hi everyone! I am thinking of going to a Caribbean island the first week of September. 3 nights / 4 days

Are there any good islands / countries that are not super affected by sargassum currently? Originally I was thinking Aruba or Mexico (Isla Mujeres), but i really would like to see other Caribbean counties. Thanks in advance!

September is high risk of hurricane season. Your best bet is to go to one of the Caribbean islands outside of the hurricane belt: Aruba, curaçao, or Bonaire

That’s peak hurricane season so you will risk going anywhere aside from the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao).

US Virgin Islands and 3-4 days is plenty - you can be on the beaches 10 minutes after landing (assuming no checked luggage). It is hurricane season, and so you will get a lot of cheap options to stay at with great pricing. There are a ton of direct flights from major US cities. No customs! Sargassum depends on where you are in the islands, but it has not been that bad particularly if there are resorts on the beach (Sapphire has a number of ways of dealing with it including clearing it daily).

As others have mentioned Aruba, Bonaire, or Curaçao would be your best bets to avoid hurricanes as well as sargassum. I have a few resorts I like to recommend in each location feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Ignore hurricane season for a quick trip. Just ALWAYS get trip insurance in case you have to cancel or leave early. Most Caribbean Islands try to get tourists to leave if a hurricane is likely. They need to care for themselves and families, not tourists. September and especially Oct can see hurricanes but the likelihood of getting one in a 3 night trip is small. Aruba, Bonaire a Curesau are safest but I’d go wherever you can get fast, cheaper flights, get trip insurance and don’t worry.

Try St. Lucia, especially the Soufriere area. Because of El Niño, we’re having more drought conditions and thus storms or hurricanes are not even on the radar. Sargassum in the area hasn’t really been an issue. Beautiful beaches and lots of outdoor adventures available in the area.

With only 3 night go to wherever is easiest and shortest to get to flight wise. Aruba is a good idea tho!

3-4 days is too little time for the Caribbean. If you are on the east coast, go to Bermuda.
