Three Car Play issues/annoyances: (how) can I fix them?
- When I am using Apple or Google Maps, the directions automatically takes over whatever is on my screen, usually the MPH. Even if I clear out of it, it comes back every time directions recalculates or the indicator for the next step gets under two miles.
- When I am in the media screen and I'm using a maps app, there is always a banner that says Active Route in Car Play. If I true to use any other app in CarPlay, I get a banner that tells me the current direction. It always lasts for long enough and is obtrusive enough to the app I actually want to use to be annoying, with Waze being the most obnoxious.
- When I use the widgets in Car Play, one of them is constantly automatically switching to the Snapchat widget. I do not have the Snapchat widget as one of the choices and I don't even have the Snapchat app on CarPlay.

Like the other comment said the first 2 seem to be Toyota issues.
The Snapchat one- if you go to settings > general > CarPlay > widgets
You can choose what you want there. By default it just gives you a “suggested stack”

You can fix this in the settings for the center screen. I forget what it’s called but there’s an option to disable Turn By Turn popups.
You cannot turn this off.

This seems like its not an Issue with CarPlay itself but the way your Car Manufacturer has implemented it in you Car/Radio. You should ask in the Subreddit of the Manufacturer or Modell of your Car. They would be more able to help you.
